          tee on Governmental Operations
 
        AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to requiring the attorney
          general to provide certain  information  to  charitable  organizations
          upon registration

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 172 of executive law is amended  by  adding  a  new
     2  subdivision 11 to read as follows:
     3    11.  The attorney general shall develop guidance and educational mate-
     4  rials that shall, to the extent practicable, be provided  to  charitable
     5  organizations  upon  their  registration with the attorney general. Such
     6  guidance and educational materials shall,  at  a  minimum,  contain  the
     7  following:
     8    (a)  information  on  continued  registration  and financial reporting
     9  obligations under this article; and
    10    (b) information on any additional registration requirements that  must
    11  be  met for a charitable organization to receive financial assistance or
    12  any funds from the state.
    13    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
