          read once and referred to the Committee on Health  --  recommitted  to
          the  Committee on Health in accordance with Assembly Rule 3, sec. 2 --
          committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as  amended  and
          recommitted to said committee
 
        AN  ACT to amend the public health law, in relation to reporting on food
          security trends
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1.   Subdivision 1 of section 201 of the public health law is
     2  amended by adding a new paragraph (z) to read as follows:
     3    (z) include as part of the department's annual  participation  in  the
     4  Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, the 2024 U.S. Household Food
     5  Security  Survey  Module: Six-Item Short Form Economic Research Service,
     6  developed by the United States department of agriculture,  and  publicly
     7  report  annually  the  results  of such survey module broken down to the
     8  county level on the public website of the department.
     9    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
