Extends the effectiveness of the requirement that upon the closure or transfer of a state-operated individualized residential alternative the commissioner of the office for people with developmental disabilities shall provide appropriate and timely notification to the temporary president of the senate, the speaker of the assembly, and appropriate representatives of impacted labor organizations, and shall make reasonable efforts to inform the affected workforce, residents and family members of the proposed closure or transfer plan.

        AN ACT to amend part Q of chapter 59 of the laws of 2016,  amending  the
          mental  hygiene law relating to the closure or transfer of a state-op-
          erated individualized residential  alternative,  in  relation  to  the
          effectiveness thereof

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section 1. Section 2 of part Q of chapter 59  of  the  laws  of  2016,
     2  amending the mental hygiene law relating to the closure or transfer of a
     3  state-operated  individualized  residential  alternative,  as amended by
     4  section 11 of part B of chapter 57 of the laws of 2024,  is  amended  to
     5  read as follows:
     6    §  2.  This act shall take effect immediately [and shall expire and be
     7  deemed repealed March 31, 2026].
     8    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
