AN ACT to amend a chapter of the laws of 2025 amending the civil service
law relating to requiring the department of civil service to allow
municipalities to post municipal employment positions on the depart-
ment of civil service's state jobs website, as proposed in legislative
bills numbers S. 7237-A and A. 8023-A, in relation to the effective-
ness thereof
The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-bly, do enact as follows:
1 Section 1. Section 2 of a chapter of the laws of 2025 amending the
2 civil service law relating to requiring the department of civil service
3 to allow municipalities to post municipal employment positions on the
4 department of civil service's state jobs website, as proposed in legis-
5 lative bills numbers S. 7237-A and A. 8023-A, is amended to read as
6 follows:
7 § 2. This act shall take effect [immediately] December 31, 2027 or
8 thirty days after the commissioner of civil service certifies that the
9 department's website is able to accommodate the amendments to section
10 59-d of the civil service law made by section one of this act, whichever
11 occurs earlier; provided, however, that the commissioner of civil
12 service shall notify the legislative bill drafting commission upon issu-
13 ing their certification in order that the commission may maintain an
14 accurate and timely effective data base of the official text of the laws
15 of the state of New York in furtherance of effectuating the provisions
16 of section 44 of the legislative law and section 70-b of the public
17 officers law.
18 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
