        AN ACT to amend the  environmental  conservation  law,  in  relation  to
          alternatives  for  the  use  of pesticides in the monarch preservation
          plan
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  Subdivisions  3  and 5 of section 11-0541 of the environ-
     2  mental conservation law, as added by a  chapter  of  the  laws  of  2025
     3  amending  the  environmental  conservation  law relating to enacting the
     4  monarch preservation plan, as proposed in legislative bills  numbers  S.
     5  3163 and A. 1819, are amended to read as follows:
     6    3. [controlling] identifying alternatives to pest management practices
     7  that may be harmful to monarch butterflies, their food or their habitat,
     8  including  but not limited to alternatives to the use of pesticides that
     9  may cause such harm;
    10    5. increasing the number of partnerships and making the most of  part-
    11  nerships to use residential and institutional landscaped areas, agricul-
    12  tural [non-cropped] lands that are not in active production, transporta-
    13  tion  corridors,  and  conservation  easements  to  create,  restore, or
    14  enhance monarch butterfly habitat.
    15    § 2. This act shall take effect on the  same  date  and  in  the  same
    16  manner  as  a  chapter  of  the  laws of 2025 amending the environmental
    17  conservation law relating to enacting the monarch preservation plan,  as
    18  proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 3163 and A. 1819, takes effect.
