          on Health
 
        AN  ACT to amend the state finance law, in relation to money credited to
          the spinal cord injury research trust fund
 
          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
 
     1    Section  1. Subdivision 2 of section 99-f of the state finance law, as
     2  amended by chapter 612 of the laws  of  1999,  is  amended  to  read  as
     3  follows:
     4    2.  The fund shall consist of all monies appropriated for its purpose,
     5  all monies required by this section or any other provision of law to  be
     6  paid  into  or  credited  to  such fund, and monies [in an amount not to
     7  exceed]  of  at  least  eight  million  five  hundred  thousand  dollars
     8  collected  by  the  mandatory surcharges imposed pursuant to subdivision
     9  one of section eighteen hundred nine of the  vehicle  and  traffic  law.
    10  Nothing  contained  herein  shall  prevent the department of health from
    11  receiving grants, gifts or bequests for the  purposes  of  the  fund  as
    12  defined  in  this section and depositing them into the fund according to
    13  law.
    14    § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
