COMMEMORATING the 95th Anniversary of P.J. Green,
Inc., a business committed to innovation,
sustainability, and community service in Utica, New
York
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
honor those enduring institutions and enterprises which have contributed
significantly to the economic vitality and cultural enrichment of their
communities and this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 95th Anniversary of P.J. Green, Inc., located in Utica,
New York, a distinguished business founded in 1928 by Philip James
Green; and
WHEREAS, What began in an East Utica garage as a door-to-door
delivery service of printed advertisements and promotional materials has
evolved, under four generations of dedicated family leadership, into a
regional leader in printing, marketing, and direct-mail services,
employing 80 professionals across offices in Utica, Syracuse, and
Albany; and
WHEREAS, P.J. Green, Inc. is currently co-owned and operated by
Philip Green's grandchildren - Marianne Reynolds, Kerry Gradel, and
Terence "Rick" Green - with key roles also held by siblings Sharon
Catlin and Kristi Zbytniewski, and great-grandson Andrew Reynolds
managing the company's robust printing operations; and
WHEREAS, The company stands as a certified Women and Minority
Business Enterprise (WMBE) and has demonstrated adaptability and
resilience in the face of challenges, including those presented by the
COVID-19 pandemic, creatively addressing supply chain and staffing
issues with innovation and success; and
WHEREAS, Offering a comprehensive array of services such as database
preparation, targeted mailing, commercial printing, marketing
consulting, and branded promotional products, P.J. Green, Inc. has
continually embraced technological advancement, including investment in
cutting-edge Indigo presses and environmentally safe production
equipment; and
WHEREAS, Committed to environmental stewardship, P.J. Green, Inc. is
a proud participant in the RecycleOne program and uses Forest
Stewardship Council-certified paper, environmentally safe inks and
fluids, and an HP Indigo oil recycling machine, ensuring their
operations remain sustainable and waste-conscious; and
WHEREAS, The business's dedication to customer service is
exemplified by its long-standing partnership with organizations such as
Hospice & Palliative Care, whose leadership commends P.J. Green's
unwavering reliability, professionalism, and excellence; and
WHEREAS, On the occasion of its 95th Anniversary and nomination for
the 2024 Business of the Year by the Greater Utica Chamber of Commerce,
P.J. Green, Inc. continues to represent the enduring spirit of
entrepreneurial vision, familial legacy, and civic contribution; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
businesses of such noble purpose and accomplishment are brought to our
attention, they should be recognized by all the citizens of the State of
New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 95th Anniversary of P.J. Green, Inc., and to extend its
best wishes for continued success in all its future endeavors; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Marianne Reynolds, President of P.J. Green, Inc.
