Senate Resolution No. 1095

        CONGRATULATING  Arthur  and Phyllis Ellis upon the
        occasion   of   celebrating   their   50th   Wedding
        Anniversary
 
  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative  Body  takes  great  pleasure  in paying
tribute to flourishing marriages that have stood the test  of  time  and
serve as a paradigm for present and future generations; and
 
  WHEREAS,  It  is  the sense of this Legislative Body to congratulate
Arthur and Phyllis Ellis upon the occasion  of  celebrating  their  50th
Wedding Anniversary on Saturday, October 19, 2024; and
 
  WHEREAS,  On October 19, 1974, high school sweethearts, Arthur Ellis
and Phyllis Dontino, were married at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Utica,
New York; the couple were blessed with two children, Anthony and  Maria;
and
 
  WHEREAS, Both raised in Utica, Arthur (Artie) Ellis is a graduate of
Proctor  High  School,  and Phyllis (Dontino) Ellis is a graduate of St.
Francis De Sales High School; and
 
  WHEREAS, In 2008, after 30  years  of  distinguished  service  as  a
Trooper with the New York State Police, Arthur Ellis retired as a result
of  health-related  issues  from  his service at Ground Zero in New York
City, following the 9/11 terrorist attacks; and
 
  WHEREAS, After 40 years  of  distinguished  service  to  the  Oneida
County Health Department, Phyllis Ellis retired in 2020; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Through  the  years,  Arthur and Phyllis Ellis enjoyed the
growth of their family, welcoming grandchildren, Jackson and Ariana; and
 
  WHEREAS, The love, devotion, and caring  Arthur  and  Phyllis  Ellis
have  shown  to  their  family, friends, and all who know them are their
hallmark and tradition; this meaningful occasion is the  result  of  the
love,  hard work, and spirit they have invested in their happy marriage;
and
 
  WHEREAS, Arthur and Phyllis Ellis have touched the  lives  of  their
family  and  many  friends through the shining example of their marriage
which is a testament to their devotion and admiration  for  each  other;
the  longevity  of  this  enduring  marriage  truly marks a milestone in
life's journey, an event of personal triumph and joy; and
 
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this  Legislative  Body  that,  when  an
occasion of such importance is brought to our attention, the same should
be  memorialized by us for the edification and emulation of others; now,
therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
congratulate  Arthur  and Phyllis Ellis upon the occasion of celebrating
their 50th Wedding Anniversary; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Arthur and Phyllis Ellis.
