J01162 Text:

Senate Resolution No. 1162

BY: Senator GRIFFO

COMMEMORATING the 30th Anniversary of Boulevard
Diner, a cherished family-owned business committed
        to excellence, community, and tradition

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
celebrate businesses that exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit,
perseverance, and commitment to community that strengthen the fabric of
New York State; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Boulevard Diner, a family-owned and
operated restaurant that has become a beloved institution in its
community; and

WHEREAS, Boulevard Diner first opened its doors on April 19, 1995,
the realization of a dream shared by Rich and Roxanne Grimaldi,
who-alongside just four employees-poured their hearts and energy into
making their vision a success, guided by a simple promise: to give more
than 100% effort, every single day; and

WHEREAS, In the decades since, Boulevard Diner has grown to employ
over 25 team members, while remaining true to its roots as a welcoming,
community-centered establishment known for quality food, warm service,
and a strong family presence; and

WHEREAS, Rich and Roxanne's sons, Rich Jr. and Michael, joined the
family business early on, working side by side with their parents for
more than 20 years before choosing to make the diner their long-term
home after college; now, as the next generation takes the reins, the
Grimaldi legacy continues with pride and purpose; and

WHEREAS, The building that houses Boulevard Diner sat vacant for
more than three years before the Grimaldi family transformed it,
investing nearly two months of labor and care to prepare it for opening
day; over the past 30 years, the Diner has undergone five major
remodels, including a significant expansion in 2019-2020 that added
seating, a larger waiting area, new restrooms, and a standout addition-a
Bake Shop where guests can purchase fresh, house-made desserts and
pastries; and

WHEREAS, The continued evolution and success of Boulevard Diner is a
testament to the Grimaldis' unwavering dedication, not only to their
craft, but to one another; the diner now supports three families, and
continues to thrive thanks to their collective effort and vision; and

WHEREAS, Boulevard Diner is more than just a business, it is a
community anchor; with 80% of staff remaining for three to five years or
more, and several team members surpassing 10 and even 25 years of
service,  it  reflects  a culture of loyalty, pride, and shared success;
and

WHEREAS, The Grimaldi family has consistently shown great pride in
their role within the community, and are deeply grateful to the friends,
neighbors, and loyal customers who have supported them through three
decades of growth and achievement; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 30th Anniversary of Boulevard Diner, to honor the
entrepreneurial spirit and multigenerational dedication of the Grimaldi
family, and to extend best wishes for continued success in the years to
come; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Boulevard Diner, Whitesboro, New York.
