CONGRATULATING Vinny Faraone upon the occasion of
his retirement after more than 40 years of
distinguished service and leadership in the field of
Emergency Medical Services
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those individuals whose long-standing commitment to public
service and professional excellence has significantly advanced the
health, safety, and well-being of communities throughout New York State;
and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
congratulate Vinny Faraone upon the occasion of his retirement after
more than 40 years of exemplary service in the field of Emergency
Medical Services (EMS); and
WHEREAS, A true leader in prehospital care, Vinny Faraone has
devoted his life to improving EMS systems, fostering regional
cooperation, and enhancing patient outcomes across the State of New
York; and
WHEREAS, For the past 19 years, Vinny Faraone has served with
distinction as Director of Operations at Kunkel Ambulance, where his
leadership has helped guide the agency in delivering high-quality
emergency medical services to the community; and
WHEREAS, Vinny Faraone was a founding member of the Midstate
Regional EMS Council in 1993 and has remained an active and influential
presence on the Council for over three decades; and
WHEREAS, His impact has extended to the state level through his
longstanding service on the New York State EMS Council and its various
committees, where his insights, advocacy, and policy contributions have
shaped the advancement of emergency medical care statewide; and
WHEREAS, Since 1995, Vinny Faraone has also served as a dedicated
member of the United New York Ambulance Network (UNYAN), lending his
voice to important discussions on EMS infrastructure, funding, and
collaboration; and
WHEREAS, For 10 years, Vinny Faraone served as the Midstate Regional
Clinical Coordinator through Mohawk Valley Health System (formerly
Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare), where he played a key role in
strengthening the connection between EMS providers and area hospitals;
and
WHEREAS, Vinny Faraone was instrumental in helping Faxton-St. Luke's
achieve Comprehensive Stroke Center designation by ensuring meaningful
EMS involvement in the program, and he worked closely with the late Dr.
John DeTraglia to enhance trauma care services at St. Elizabeth Medical
Center, now part of MVHS; and
WHEREAS, Through his deep experience, collaborative approach, and
unwavering commitment to clinical excellence, Vinny Faraone has left an
indelible mark on the EMS profession in the Mohawk Valley and beyond;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Vinny Faraone upon the occasion of his retirement after
more than 40 years of dedicated service to Emergency Medical Services,
and to commend him for his outstanding leadership, mentorship, and
tireless commitment to advancing prehospital care in New York State; and
be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Vinny Faraone, with the sincere appreciation and best
wishes of the New York State Legislature.
