Senate Resolution No. 1178

        COMMEMORATING  the  100th  Anniversary of Catholic
        Charities of Oneida/Madison Counties
 
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to  recognize  and
pay  tribute  to  organizations  of  significance that have demonstrated
steadfast  commitment  to  improving   the   lives   of   citizens   and
strengthening communities across New York State; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commemorate   the   100th   Anniversary   of   Catholic   Charities   of
Oneida/Madison Counties, to be observed in 2025; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Since  its  founding  in  1925,  Catholic   Charities   of
Oneida/Madison  Counties  has  remained  dedicated to transforming lives
through its unwavering mission to care for others while promoting  human
development,   collaboration,   and   the  elimination  of  poverty  and
injustice; and
 
  WHEREAS, For  a  century,  Catholic  Charities  has  recognized  and
addressed   the   persistent  challenges  of  poverty,  mental  illness,
substance abuse, and homelessness affecting individuals and families  in
the region; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Catholic  Charities of Oneida/Madison Counties serves as a
vital lifeline for the most  vulnerable  members  of  the  community  by
offering  a wide range of compassionate programs and services, including
residential  care,  mental  health   counseling,   emergency   community
assistance,   a   food   pantry   and  pet  pantry,  youth  recreational
opportunities through CYO Basketball, and the nurturing  environment  of
Camp Nazareth; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Beyond  providing tangible necessities, Catholic Charities
extends hope,  encouragement,  and  optimism  to  thousands  each  year,
affirming  the  inherent dignity of every person and helping individuals
and families to build strength for a better future; and
 
  WHEREAS, Catholic Charities delivers these services  without  regard
to an individual's ability to pay, and with a commitment to inclusivity,
welcoming  and  assisting  all individuals regardless of religion, race,
sexual orientation, disability, or nationality; and
 
  WHEREAS, The  tireless  efforts  and  profound  impact  of  Catholic
Charities  of  Oneida/Madison Counties would not be possible without the
dedication of its staff, volunteers, partners, and community supporters,
who embody the spirit of service and compassion; and
 
  WHEREAS, As Catholic Charities of Oneida/Madison Counties celebrates
its Centennial Year, it is fitting that all New  Yorkers  recognize  and
applaud  this outstanding organization for its 100 years of service, and
join in support of its continuing efforts in the fight against  poverty,
hunger, homelessness, and hopelessness; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate   the   100th   Anniversary   of   Catholic   Charities   of
Oneida/Madison  Counties,  and  to honor its remarkable contributions to
the well-being of individuals, families, and communities  across  Oneida
and Madison Counties; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Catholic Charities of Oneida/Madison Counties.
