COMMEMORATING the 25th Anniversary of Rosa's
Trattoria: Italian Bakery & Deli Restaurant of
Utica, New York
WHEREAS, The success of this great state of New York is built upon
the dedication, spirit, and entrepreneurship of its businesses,
specifically those that turned their dreams into reality while upholding
family values and tradition; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize
illustrious culinary establishments which have positively impacted and
substantially contributed to the vitality of their communities; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long
standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Rosa's Trattoria of Utica, New York;
and
WHEREAS, In 1965, Rosa Yozzo emigrated from Cetara, Italy to Utica,
New York with her mother and brothers, where her father Pasquale had
already been living and had opened a small store called Pasquale's; and
WHEREAS, Owning a business was in Rosa Yozzo's blood, so on June 4,
2000, she and her husband Joe Yozzo decided it was time to make their
dream a reality by opening Rosa's Trattoria: Italian Bakery & Deli; and
WHEREAS, Rosa's Trattoria: Italian Bakery & Deli is a family owned
and operated small business that all started with the simple dream of
offering families and friends delicious and authentic Italian meals made
with love; ultimately, this dream laid the groundwork for what their
deli continues to stand for; and
WHEREAS, Over the past 25 years, their menu has stayed true to their
roots while evolving to include Rosa's award-winning famous meatballs,
their fan-favorite pasta dishes and their unforgettable Italian cookies;
and
WHEREAS, They see all their menu items as dishes that represent Rosa
Yozzo's native town of Cetara, Italy and pay tribute to her parents'
store, Pasquale's; and
WHEREAS, Rosa's Trattoria: Italian Bakery & Deli ensures that all
the people of Utica feel their dedication to its Italian heritage; and
WHEREAS, It is with great pleasure that this Legislative Body
acknowledges this exceptional business and its contributions to the
local and State economies, fully confident that it will continue to
enjoy the sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Rosa's Trattoria: Italian Bakery &
Deli of Utica, New York, and to offer best wishes to owners, Rosa and
Joe Yozzo, for continued success in all their future endeavors; and be
it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Rosa and Joe Yozzo.
