COMMENDING the 67th Precinct Clergy Council upon
the occasion of hosting its 15th Annual Anniversary
Gala on June 18, 2025
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those exceptional organizations whose enduring commitment to
service, advocacy, and community collaboration strengthens the social
fabric of New York State; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is proud to commend the
67th Precinct Clergy Council upon the occasion of hosting its 15th
Annual Anniversary Gala, to be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025; and
WHEREAS, For fifteen years, the 67th Precinct Clergy Council, also
known as the "GodSquad," has been a pillar of support and leadership
within the Flatbush community, working tirelessly to promote peace,
address critical issues, and foster unity among residents, law
enforcement, and faith leaders; and
WHEREAS, This year's Gala is graced by the presence of Emmy
Award-winning journalist and advocate Alecia Reid, who will serve as
Master of Ceremonies; an esteemed correspondent for CBS New York and a
passionate champion of sustainability, social justice, and environmental
advocacy, Alecia Reid embodies the spirit of empowerment and positive
change celebrated by this event; and
WHEREAS, Through its annual Gala and other initiatives, the 67th
Precinct Clergy Council continues to uplift the community, providing a
platform to highlight voices, celebrate progress, and support programs
that enhance public safety, social justice, and community well-being;
and
WHEREAS, Under the dedicated leadership of its clergy members and
supporters, the GodSquad has become synonymous with compassion,
resilience, and transformative action, ensuring that its legacy of
service continues to inspire and make an impact; and
WHEREAS, It is fitting that this Legislative Body recognize and
commend the 67th Precinct Clergy Council for its fifteen years of
dedicated service and for hosting this year's Anniversary Gala, a
testament to its ongoing commitment to justice, unity, and hope; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend the 67th Precinct Clergy Council upon the occasion of hosting
its 15th Annual Anniversary Gala, and to commend its visionary
leadership and supporters for their vital contributions to the Flatbush
community and beyond; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the 67th Precinct Clergy Council for this momentous
occasion.
