HONORING Michael Watson upon the occasion of his
retirement after 30 years of distinguished service
to the Corning Police Department
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to acknowledge
those individuals whose professional lives and civic endeavors serve to
enhance the stature of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Michael Watson upon the occasion of his retirement after 30 years of
distinguished service to the Corning Police Department; and
WHEREAS, For the past 30 years, Michael Watson rendered faithful,
conscientious, and valuable service to the Corning Police Department;
and
WHEREAS, At age 18, Michael Watson had a motocross accident that
left him permanently disabled and altered his career path; it led him to
become a dispatcher with the Corning Police Department on October 31,
1994; and
WHEREAS, In his capacity as dispatcher, Michael Watson served with
loyalty, honor and distinction, and brought a patient and calming
presence to the Corning Police Department; and
WHEREAS, In his official acts, Michael Watson was governed by a keen
sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of human problems; and
WHEREAS, Michael Watson's last day with the Corning Police
Department will be June 26, 2025; and
WHEREAS, During his tenure with the Corning Police Department,
Michael Watson earned the admiration, esteem and affection of his
colleagues; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Michael Watson upon the occasion of his retirement after 30 years
of distinguished service; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Michael Watson.
