unity, and honor the heritage of New Yorkers; and

WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long

WHEREAS, For nearly a century, the West Indian Day Carnival has

Parkway; and

WHEREAS, The 2025 festival will feature colorful costumes,
electrifying soca, calypso, reggae, and steelpan performances, delicious
Caribbean cuisine, and vibrant cultural expression-reflecting the
spirit, heritage, and unity of the West Indian diaspora; and

WHEREAS, Beyond revelry, the Carnival has become a significant force
for education, arts, and community uplift through WIADCA's ongoing
