Senate Resolution No. 1267

        MOURNING the death of Louis Coppola, distinguished
        citizen and devoted member of his community
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens  of  the  State  of New York whose lifework and civic endeavors
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Louis Coppola of Mahopac, New York, died on Saturday,  June
21, 2025, at the age of 76; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Born  in New York City on July 31, 1948, Louis Coppola was
the son of William V. and Mary Coppola; and
 
  WHEREAS, Louis  Coppola  served  in  the  United  States  Army  from
1968-1970, then in the Army Reserves until 1974; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Louis  Coppola distinguished himself in his profession and
by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
his community; and
 
  WHEREAS, A carpenter with Local 149 of the Carpenters  Union,  Louis
Coppola primarily worked on bridges; and
 
  WHEREAS,  In his spare time, Louis Coppola enjoyed fishing, boating,
hunting, gardening, and in his retirement, he was routinely seen driving
around town checking in with family and hanging out with his friends  at
the bait shop; and
 
  WHEREAS, Louis Coppola's commitment to excellence, and his spirit of
humanity,   carried  over  into  all  fields  of  enterprise,  including
charitable and civic endeavors; and
 
  WHEREAS, Louis Coppola is survived  by  his  brother,  William;  his
sister,  Marie  Olivier;  nieces,  nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews
that he deeply cherished; he was predeceased by his  parents  and  older
brother, Anthony; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Armed  with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Louis Coppola leaves behind a legacy which will long  endure
the  passage  of  time  and will remain as a comforting memory to all he
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
mourn  the  death  of  Louis  Coppola, distinguished citizen and devoted
member of his community; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to the family of Louis Coppola.
