Senate Resolution No. 1304

        CONGRATULATING  Ava  Walia  upon  the  occasion of
        being crowned the 2025  National  All-American  Miss
        Preteen
 
  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals whose achievements exemplify excellence, leadership,
and service to their community; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
congratulate Ava Walia upon the  occasion  of  being  crowned  the  2025
National All-American Miss Preteen; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Ava  Walia  of  Nassau County, New York, has distinguished
herself by winning the prestigious title of National  All-American  Miss
Preteen,  competing  among nearly 100 young women from across the United
States; and
 
  WHEREAS, Through this remarkable achievement, Ava Walia made history
as the first Indian American from Nassau County to win a national  title
in  this program, bringing great pride to her family, her community, and
the State of New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, In addition to her success  in  pageantry,  Ava  Walia  has
demonstrated  extraordinary  commitment  to  public  service  and  civic
engagement as a dedicated youth advocate for  organ  donation  awareness
through her platform, Save a Kidney; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Ava  Walia's  advocacy is deeply personal, inspired by the
loss of her grandfather to kidney disease, and has driven her to educate
families and communities about the life-saving importance of organ, eye,
and tissue donation; and
 
  WHEREAS, In recognition of her leadership and dedication, Ava  Walia
was  appointed  the  first  Junior  Ambassador  for Donate Life New York
State, working alongside community leaders and organizations to  further
Donate Life's mission across the State; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Ava  Walia  also  served  with  distinction  on  the  host
committee for Donate Life New York State's "Evening for Good" event held
in New York City, where her leadership and collaborative efforts  helped
raise  more  than  $100,000  to  support  organ  donation  awareness and
education initiatives; and
 
  WHEREAS, Ava Walia recently returned from  Nationals  having  earned
the  National  All-American  Miss  Preteen  title,  proudly representing
Nassau County and New  York  State  on  a  national  stage  with  poise,
purpose, and integrity; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Through  her  accomplishments,  service, and advocacy, Ava
Walia exemplifies the values of compassion,  leadership,  and  community
service, and serves as a role model for young people throughout New York
State; now, therefore, be it
 
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Ava  Walia  upon  the  occasion  of  winning  the  National
All-American  Miss Preteen title, and to commend her for her outstanding
achievements, historic  accomplishment,  and  unwavering  commitment  to
service and advocacy; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ava Walia.
