Senate Resolution No. 1316

        CONGRATULATING the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Field
        Hockey  Team  and  Head Coach Kelly Vrooman upon the
        occasion of capturing  the  2025  Class  B  NYSPHSAA
        Field Hockey Championship
 
  WHEREAS,  Individual  and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this  Legislative  Body  commends  rare  athletic
achievements  and  pays  special  recognition  to  those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and
 
  WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both  the  moral  and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and
 
  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Field Hockey Team and Head Coach Kelly Vrooman
upon the occasion of capturing the 2025 Class B  NYSPHSAA  Field  Hockey
Championship;  to  the  praise  and  applause of their excited fans, the
Spartans held on for a 1-0 victory in the final game to win their second
consecutive  State  Championship  on  Sunday,  November  16,  2025,   at
Arlington High School in Lagrangeville, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Proudly  donning  the school's colors of maroon and white,
family, friends, and the community at large loyally and enthusiastically
supported the Spartans throughout their  journey  as  they  ended  their
season with an outstanding overall record of 21-1-1; and
 
  WHEREAS,  The  Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Field Hockey program, since
2012, has won 12 sectional titles,  five  consecutive  Suburban  Council
Championship  titles,  seven  New  York State Final Four appearances and
now, three NYS Class B Championship titles; and
 
  WHEREAS, In a sport such as field  hockey,  which  demands  athletic
prowess,  speed  and  agility,  Head  Coach Kelly Vrooman, and Assistant
Coaches Jen Loria, Kate Mastrella, Isabel Adams, and Anna Watkins worked
hard to hone the  skills  of  this  championship  team,  teaching  these
outstanding athletes lessons which will prove invaluable both on and off
the field; and
 
  WHEREAS, In addition to exceptional team play between the lines, the
Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Field Hockey Team excelled in the classroom as
a  scholar athlete team garnering a collective 95.2 grade point average;
and
 
  WHEREAS, Head Coach Kelly Vrooman, her Assistant  Coaches,  and  all
the  outstanding  athletes on the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Field Hockey
Team have clearly utilized dedication,  determination  and  teamwork  in
providing  a lasting contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a
tradition of their school; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
congratulate  the  members of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Field Hockey
Team: Anna Caccamo, Carah DiCaprio, Gabriella  Donahue,  Madeline  Fish,
Maddie  Flores, Charlie Gardner, Aven Gregory, Maggie Hernandez, Addisyn
Knapik,  Penelope  Kniskern,  Grace  Kogut, Katie Lansley, Taylor Loria,
Lily Mastrella, Kayla Mosher, Lily Nafus, Ella Peconie, Maggie Rodecker,
Riley Rodecker, Layla Sharp, Quinn Stowell-Melley, Frankie  Wemyss,  and
Isabel  Yecies;  Head  Coach  Kelly  Vrooman;  and Assistant Coaches Jen
Loria,  Kate  Mastrella,  Isabel  Adams,  and  Anna  Watkins  on   their
outstanding season and overall team record; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  copies  of  this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the members of the Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake Field Hockey
Team,  the  aforementioned  Coaches,  Athletic  Director  Joe   Scalise,
Principal Timothy Brunson and Superintendent Dr. Patrick McGrath, Jr.
