MOURNING the death of Pamela Vogel, distinguished
citizen, respected public servant, and devoted
member of her community
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor
served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and the great
State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Pamela Vogel of Glens Falls, New York died on Monday,
October 13, 2025, at the age of 75; and
WHEREAS, Pamela Vogel distinguished herself in her profession and by
her sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
her community; and
WHEREAS, Born to Emma and George Johnson, Pamela Johnson was a proud
alumna of St. Mary's Academy, where she met her close-knit friends known
as the "Class of '67 SMA Girls"; it was also at St. Mary's Academy that
she met the love of her life, Joseph Vogel; and
WHEREAS, Pamela Vogel was also a graduate of Empire State
University, earning a bachelor's degree in 1990; and
WHEREAS, With her partner, Pamela Vogel had two beautiful children,
Jennifer and Jason; and
WHEREAS, Pamela Vogel deeply loved her family and was known for
leaving notes to her family members daily, supporting her children
through years of hockey games and practices, giving caring cards and
gifts, and for attending as many family events as possible; and
WHEREAS, Pamela Vogel's commitment to excellence, and her spirit of
humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including her
charitable and civic endeavors; and
WHEREAS, Leading a life of professionalism and selflessness, Pamela
Vogel committed herself to serving her community in 1976, first as
Warren County Records Technician, then as Records Manager and County
Historian before running a stellar campaign for County Clerk in 2003,
which resulted in a resounding victory; and
WHEREAS, Pamela Vogel served five four-year terms in the role of
County Clerk, running unopposed in her last four elections; she amassed
an incredible 48 years of unwavering public service guided by integrity,
compassion, and a deep commitment to community, and was highly regarded
both in professional and personal capacities; and
WHEREAS, Further, in 1989, Pamela and Joseph Vogel launched Mailings
Made Easy from their home; this business became a cornerstone of the
Glens Falls community for over 31 years and was renowned for its mailing
expertise, superior customer service, and festive holiday windows; and
WHEREAS, In her leisure, Pamela Vogel had a great sense of adventure
and would travel often; from chasing sunsets and eating lobster rolls in
New England, to tubing, snowshoeing, hiking, and sailing in Colorado, to
attending plays, concerts, museums, and sporting events in New York
City, Pamela Vogel showcased what it means to live a full and exciting
life; and
WHEREAS, A devoted member of St. Mary's Parish, Pamela Vogel's faith
was her foundation; she had a deep love for God, which guided her to
live with grace, generosity, and quiet strength; her travels to Rome
afforded her the honor of praying at The Holy See while a visit to Paris
meant Mass at Notre-Dame de Paris; and
WHEREAS, For her 75th birthday, Pamela Vogel had the pleasure of
traveling to South Bend, Indiana, where she was able to pray with St.
Bernadette at The Grotto, attend service at the Basilica of the Sacred
Heart, and attend a winning Fighting Irish football game; and
WHEREAS, Pamela Vogel is survived by her children, Jennifer (Marc)
and Jason (Lisa); sisters, Judy (Jimmy) and Lisa; sister-in-law, Susan
(Bill); brother-in-law, Thomas; many nieces and nephews; and her dear
friends, Karen, Jackie, and SueAnne; and
WHEREAS, She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph; parents, Emma
and George; in-laws, Betty and Joe; sister, Janet; nephew, Shawn;
son-in-law, Martin; and brother-in-law, Timothy; and
WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of
compassion, Pamela Vogel leaves behind a legacy which will long endure
the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all she
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Pamela Vogel; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Pamela Vogel.
