COMMENDING Dr. Andrew L. Drozd upon the occasion
of his induction into the 2025 Oneida County
Historical Richard W. Couper Living Legends Hall of
Fame on November 6, 2025
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those extraordinary individuals whose innovation,
leadership, and dedication have profoundly enriched the vitality of
their communities and advanced the fields in which they serve; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commend Dr. Andrew L. Drozd upon the occasion of his induction into the
2025 Oneida County Historical Richard W. Couper Living Legends Hall of
Fame, to be celebrated on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at the Oneida
County History Center in Utica, New York; and
WHEREAS, The Oneida County History Center, a private not-for-profit
educational institution, is dedicated to preserving the history,
heritage, and culture of the Greater Mohawk Valley for present and
future generations; through its Historical Hall of Fame and Living
Legends Celebration, it honors individuals whose professional
accomplishments and community engagement exemplify excellence and
service; and
WHEREAS, A distinguished member of the 2025 class of Living Legends,
Dr. Andrew L. Drozd of Rome, New York, is an accomplished engineer,
innovator, and entrepreneur whose pioneering work in secure
communications and artificial intelligence has garnered national and
international recognition; and
WHEREAS, Known affectionately as "Andy," Dr. Drozd pursued his
academic studies in physics and engineering, earning degrees from
Syracuse University and later a Doctorate from St. John Fisher
University, where he focused on the intersection of artificial and
emotional intelligence; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Andrew L. Drozd began his career at the Rome Air
Development Center, later serving as a lead electromagnetic
compatibility (EMC) test engineer at General Electric; his vision and
expertise led him to establish ANDRO Computational Solutions, LLC, in
1994, a company that has become a recognized leader in advancing secure
communications, electromagnetic spectrum technologies, and artificial
intelligence solutions; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Andrew L. Drozd
has been a prolific innovator, holding more than 20 patents, co-founding
multiple ventures, and contributing extensively to the Institute of
Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and international standards
organizations that shape the future of global communications technology;
and
WHEREAS, Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Andrew L. Drozd
has demonstrated a deep commitment to his community; he co-founded the
Project Fibonacci Foundation, an initiative dedicated to inspiring and
mentoring the next generation of leaders in science, technology,
engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), and he actively supports
numerous local educational and civic programs; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Andrew L. Drozd resides in Rome, New York, with his
wife, Barb, and their son, Evan; together, they share a love for church,
music, travel, and outdoor activities, reflecting his belief in balance,
creativity, and service to others; and
WHEREAS, A visionary whose work bridges science, education, and
community engagement, Dr. Andrew L. Drozd stands as an exemplar of
innovation guided by integrity, humanity, and civic pride; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those individuals whose lives and careers embody the highest
ideals of leadership and service, and whose accomplishments inspire both
present and future generations; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commend Dr. Andrew L. Drozd upon the occasion of his induction into the
2025 Oneida County Historical Richard W. Couper Living Legends Hall of
Fame, recognizing his exceptional achievements as an engineer,
entrepreneur, innovator, and community advocate; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dr. Andrew L. Drozd.
