Senate Resolution No. 1423

        MOURNING the death of Ronald Deagan, distinguished
        citizen,  firefighter,  and  devoted  member  of his
        community
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
citizens of the State of New York  whose  lifework  and  civic  endeavor
served  to  enhance  the  quality  of life in their communities and this
great Empire State; and
 
  WHEREAS, Ronald Deagan of  Mahopac,  New  York,  died  on  Thursday,
January 1, 2026, at the age of 51; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Born to William J. and Joanna Deagan in Yonkers, New York,
on January 22, 1974, Ronald Deagan was a lifelong resident  of  Mahopac,
New York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Ronald  Deagan distinguished himself in his profession and
by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of
his community; and
 
  WHEREAS, After graduating Mahopac High School in 1992, Ronald Deagan
worked for several years as a maintenance technician  at  the  Chappaqua
School  District,  and he was the proud owner of SMS Heating in Mahopac,
New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Filled with a strong sense of duty, Ronald  Deagan  proudly
served  the  Mahopac  Volunteer  Fire  Department  in various positions,
including as captain of Engine Co. 3 at the Crane Road  station  and  as
lieutenant of Engine Co. 1 at the department headquarters; and
 
  WHEREAS,  As  a  firefighter, Ronald Deagan served his community and
his fellow firefighters courageously; and
 
  WHEREAS, On August 14, 1999, Ronald Deagan married his beloved wife,
Michele Harrigan, at St. John the  Evangelist  Church  in  Mahopac,  New
York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Ronald  Deagan was a thoughtful man, and he loved fishing,
enjoying his coffee, listening to Bon Jovi,  and  watching  the  Chicago
Bears; and
 
  WHEREAS, Ronald Deagan's commitment to excellence, and his spirit of
humanity,   carried  over  into  all  fields  of  enterprise,  including
charitable and civic endeavors; and
 
  WHEREAS, Ronald  Deagan  is  survived  by  his  wife,  Michele;  his
daughters,  Gabrielle  and  Alexandra; his mother, Joanna; his brothers,
William and John; his sisters, Suzanne and Nancy; and several nieces and
nephews; and
 
  WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a  sense  of
compassion,  Ronald Deagan leaves behind a legacy which will long endure
 
the passage of time and will remain as a comforting  memory  to  all  he
served and befriended; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Ronald Deagan,  distinguished  citizen,  firefighter,
and devoted member of his community; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Ronald Deagan.
