HONORING Grand Sheik Shaahid Ali El upon the
occasion of his designation as recipient of the
Strategic Leadership Award in Brand Management and
Community Engagement by Young, Gifted, & Black
Entrepreneurial Awards, Inc.
WHEREAS, It is the tradition of this Legislative Body to recognize
and honor individuals whose visionary leadership, unwavering dedication
to community empowerment, and strategic guidance have strengthened
neighborhoods, uplifted citizens, and advanced the principles of
service, unity, and justice; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Grand Sheik Shaahid Ali El, M.S.T. of A., National Chairman of the
United Moorish Science Temple of America, upon the occasion of his
designation as recipient of the Strategic Leadership Award in Brand
Management and Community Engagement by Young, Gifted, & Black
Entrepreneurial Awards, Inc., on Wednesday, February 25, 2026; and
WHEREAS, Since his initiation into the Moorish Science Temple of
America in 1999, Grand Sheik Shaahid Ali El has demonstrated a steadfast
commitment to the teachings of Prophet Noble Drew Ali, progressing
through roles of leadership including Treasurer, Grand Sheik, and Divine
Minister of Subordinate Temple No. 24 in Los Angeles, California,
ultimately serving as National Chairman since January 2025; and
WHEREAS, A visionary and unifying leader, Shaahid Ali El has
fostered collaboration across Moorish communities nationally,
emphasizing unity, compassion, and the mutual responsibility of members
within the Asiatic Nation, while promoting spiritual, educational, and
economic development; and
WHEREAS, In addition to his religious leadership, Grand Sheik
Shaahid Ali El is a committed community advocate, founding the Ezrach
Brain Trust Association in 2016 to advance cultural preservation, social
justice, entrepreneurship, and economic empowerment in Leimert Park, Los
Angeles, and beyond, strengthening community infrastructure and creating
opportunities for local residents; and
WHEREAS, A successful entrepreneur, he manages his own barbershop
and laundry business, providing essential services, creating employment
opportunities, and modeling economic self-sufficiency as a cornerstone
of community empowerment; and
WHEREAS, Through his writings in the Moorish Times Newspaper and his
public engagement, Grand Sheik Shaahid Ali El has consistently shared
historical truth, advocated for the upliftment of marginalized
communities, and championed initiatives that advance both spiritual and
practical well-being; and
WHEREAS, Grand Sheik Shaahid Ali El exemplifies strategic leadership
in brand management and community engagement, combining moral authority,
entrepreneurial acumen, and tireless service to positively impact lives
and communities nationwide; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Grand Sheik Shaahid Ali El upon the occasion of his designation as
recipient of the Strategic Leadership Award in Brand Management and
Community Engagement by Young, Gifted, & Black Entrepreneurial Awards,
Inc.; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Grand Sheik Shaahid Ali El and to the Young, Gifted, &
Black Entrepreneurial Awards, Inc., as a symbol of the highest respect
and admiration of this Legislative Body.
