        HONORING   Dahved   Levy   upon  the  occasion  of
        receiving  the   Lifetime   Achievement   Award   in
        Caribbean  Radio Broadcasting and his induction into
        the Alumni Hall of Fame by Young,  Gifted,  &  Black
        Entrepreneurial Awards, Inc.
 
  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend individuals whose voices, vision, and cultural stewardship  have
expanded  representation,  elevated  communities,  and  strengthened the
fabric of public discourse through excellence and sustained impact; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Dahved  Levy,  pioneering  broadcaster,  cultural  ambassador, and media
innovator, upon the occasion of receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award
in Caribbean Radio Broadcasting and his induction into the  Alumni  Hall
of  Fame  by  Young,  Gifted,  &  Black Entrepreneurial Awards, Inc., on
Wednesday, February 25, 2026; and
 
  WHEREAS, Founded in 2006  by  Carl  Gray,  Young,  Gifted,  &  Black
Entrepreneurial  Awards,  Inc., is a nonprofit organization dedicated to
recognizing distinguished individuals of color across the Americas,  the
Caribbean,  and  Africa,  honoring  "unsung  heroes  and heroines" whose
leadership, creativity, and service  have  made  enduring  contributions
across media, business, culture, and community life; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Born  in Barbados, raised in London, and based in New York
City, Dahved Levy embodies the global Caribbean  diaspora,  bringing  an
international  perspective and unapologetic authenticity to the airwaves
while bridging cultures,  generations,  and  continents  through  sound,
story, and dialogue; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Widely  known  by  his  iconic  signature,  "Dahved Levy -
Rockin' You! Rockin' You!",  Dahved  Levy  made  history  as  the  first
broadcaster  to  host a Caribbean-focused program on mainstream New York
radio, a groundbreaking show that rose to number one in  its  time  slot
within  months,  reshaping  radio programming and audience expectations;
and
 
  WHEREAS, Dahved Levy further  distinguished  himself  as  the  first
announcer  and  DJ  to  appear  simultaneously  on  three New York radio
stations,  an  unprecedented  achievement  that  underscored  both   his
extraordinary demand and his influence within the media landscape; and
 
  WHEREAS,   Renowned  for  his  magnetic  on-air  presence,  fearless
commentary, and deep command of  reggae,  soca,  and  Caribbean  musical
traditions,   Dahved  Levy  seamlessly  blended  news,  humor,  cultural
analysis, and provocative dialogue, expanding the reach and  respect  of
Caribbean broadcasting within mainstream media; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Over  the  course of his distinguished career, Dahved Levy
conducted interviews with global leaders and cultural  icons,  including
Nelson and Winnie Mandela, President Bill Clinton, and Secretary Hillary
 
Clinton,  as  well as internationally celebrated artists such as Shaggy,
Sean Paul, Jay-Z, Janet Jackson, and  many  others,  earning  widespread
acclaim  for his incisive, courageous, and culturally grounded approach;
and
 
  WHEREAS, Dahved Levy's excellence in journalism and broadcasting has
been  formally  recognized  through honors, including the Radio Award of
Merit from the New York Association of Black Journalists, affirming  his
credibility, integrity, and impact as a media professional; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Beyond  the  microphone,  Dahved  Levy  has  served  as  a
transformative force in  live  entertainment,  promoting  and  producing
landmark  concerts  that  brought  Caribbean  superstars,  such as Beres
Hammond,  Buju  Banton,  and  Machel  Montano,  to  world-class  venues,
including Madison Square Garden and Radio City Music Hall, and expanding
the mainstream visibility and commercial success of Caribbean music; and
 
  WHEREAS,  As founder of the Fever Media Network, Dahved Levy created
enduring digital platforms dedicated  to  amplifying  Caribbean  voices,
stories, and perspectives across the global diaspora; and
 
  WHEREAS, Continuing his commitment to cultural advocacy, Dahved Levy
remains an influential presence on-air and online as co-host of "Let The
Cocks  Crow"  on  Irie Jam Radio while producing events and content that
celebrate Caribbean identity, history, and artistic excellence; and
 
  WHEREAS, Through decades of innovation, representation, and fearless
cultural  leadership,  Dahved  Levy  has   redefined   Caribbean   radio
broadcasting, uplifted diasporic communities, and ensured that Caribbean
music  and  stories  occupy  their  rightful place in global media; now,
therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
honor   Dahved   Levy  upon  the  occasion  of  receiving  the  Lifetime
Achievement Award in Caribbean Radio Broadcasting and his induction into
the Alumni Hall of Fame and to commend his  extraordinary  contributions
to media, culture, and the Caribbean diaspora; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Dahved Levy  as  a  lasting  expression  of  the  highest
respect and appreciation of this Legislative Body.
