HONORING Eileen Sullivan upon the occasion of her
designation as recipient of the Mrs. Angela Stiuso
Award at St. Aidan School's 75th Anniversary Gala
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality and character of life in the communities across New York
State are reflective of the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
individuals who devote themselves to the welfare of their community and
its citizenry; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Eileen Sullivan upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of the
Mrs. Angela Stiuso Award at St. Aidan School's 75th Anniversary Gala on
Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Heritage Club at Bethpage State Park; and
WHEREAS, Eileen Sullivan grew up on the south shore of Long Island;
after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Education with a
concentration in Mathematics from the College of St. Rose, she taught
second grade for two years at St. John the Evangelist School in
Schenectady, New York; and
WHEREAS, Eileen Sullivan pursued a master's degree at St. John's
University, focusing on becoming a reading specialist; she taught second
grade for two years at Long Beach Catholic School before being hired at
St. Aidan School to begin the full day kindergarten program; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed honoree, Eileen Sullivan, has been a
cherished educator at St. Aidan School for 33 years, teaching
kindergarten for all but one of these fulfilling years; and
WHEREAS, With her throughout has been her beloved husband of 35
years, Dave, and her cherished children, Katherine, Dave, and Megan, all
of whom have felt privileged to be a part of her fruitful life and
rejoices in her many achievements; and
WHEREAS, Within every community, there are inevitably some
individuals who, by virtue of their energy, vision, and dedication,
command the greatest respect among their peers, colleagues, and
community at large; Elieen Sullivan is one such individual; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend
individuals of outstanding character who have shown initiative and
commitment toward constantly pursuing higher goals for themselves,
acting as role models of leadership to be emulated by both peers and
young people; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Eileen Sullivan upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition at St. Aidan School's 75th Anniversary Gala; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Eileen Sullivan.
