Senate Resolution No. 1513

        CONGRATULATING  Dr.  Jacquiline  S. Touba upon the
        occasion of receiving  the  37th  Annual  J.  Walter
        Juckett Community Service Award
 
  WHEREAS,  Individuals  who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are assets  beyond  remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
 
  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate Dr.
Jacquiline S. Touba upon the occasion of receiving the  37th  Annual  J.
Walter  Juckett Community Service Award; this honor will be presented by
the Adirondack Regional Chamber of Commerce at the ARCC Annual Dinner at
the Sagamore Resort in Bolton Landing, New York,  on  Friday,  March  6,
2026; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Founded  in  1914,  the  Adirondack  Regional  Chamber  of
Commerce (ARCC) is a membership organization representing businesses  in
New  York  State's  Washington,  Warren,  Essex,  and  Northern Saratoga
Counties; the ARCC is a 501c6 not-for-profit corporation, governed by  a
volunteer  board  of  directors,  and  does not receive any funding from
local, county, or state governments;  its  mission  is  to  support  its
business   community   through   advocacy,  education,  connection,  and
collaboration; and
 
  WHEREAS, The J. Walter Juckett Community  Service  Award,  named  in
honor  of  the  longtime  chairman  of  the  Sandy Hill Corporation, was
created 37 years ago to recognize and honor a deserving  member  of  the
community  who has selflessly gone above and beyond by contributing time
and energy to help others; and
 
  WHEREAS, With more than 50 years as an  artist,  Dr.  Jacquiline  S.
Touba  has  utilized  her  work as a college professor and her extensive
world travels to establish the  World  Awareness  Children's  Museum  in
Glens  Falls,  New York; originally founded in 1985 as the International
Arts and Culture Association, the Museum now  houses  more  than  10,000
pieces   of   children's  artwork  from  around  the  globe  and  offers
opportunities for children and families to  explore  our  diverse  world
through play and learning; and
 
  WHEREAS,   Dr.  Jacquiline  S.  Touba  previously  served  as  Board
President of  North  Country  ARTS  and  was  a  key  organizer  in  the
development  of  the  Arts  District  of Glens Falls; she is a published
author with many of her research and writings featured in  national  and
international publications; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Dr.  Jacquiline  S. Touba has elevated her passion for art
and education by creating projects and initiatives which have created  a
ripple  effect of opportunities in her community; she also supports many
nonprofit  organizations  through  the  Touba  Family  Foundation  which
provides  funding  for  art  organizations  in  times  when many funding
opportunities have been decreased; and
 
  WHEREAS, Deeply committed to her community, Dr. Jacquiline S.  Touba
has been active in many service organizations, including the Rotary Club
of  Glens  Falls,  Lower  Adirondack Regional Arts Council (LARAC), Hyde
Collection, and Chapman Museum; and
 
  WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Dr. Jacquiline S. Touba has received
numerous  awards, honors, and distinctions, including the New York State
Senate "Woman of  Distinction"  in  2009,  the  Soroptimist's  Making  a
Difference for Women Award, and the Zonta International Peace Award; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Through  her  continued  work, Dr. Jacquiline S. Touba has
done so much to shine a light on art and  culture  in  the  region;  her
contributions to the enrichment of the lives of community members of all
ages warrants recognition; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Dr.  Jacquiline S. Touba has exemplified commitment to her
community, and her  hard  work  and  impressive  accomplishments  are  a
testament to her success; and
 
  WHEREAS,   Rare   indeed  is  the  impressive  dedication  shown  by
individuals for the benefit of others which Dr. Jacquiline S. Touba  has
displayed throughout her life; and
 
  WHEREAS,  It  has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to  honor  and  support  those  individuals  who  have  displayed  their
commitment to the betterment of their communities; and
 
  WHEREAS,  It is the intent of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon
its records this  tribute  to  Dr.  Jacquiline  S.  Touba,  that  future
generations  may  know  and  appreciate  her admirable character and the
respect and esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be
it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
congratulate  Dr. Jacquiline S. Touba upon the occasion of receiving the
37th Annual J. Walter Juckett Community Service Award; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Dr. Jacquiline S. Touba.
