        COMMEMORATING  the 77th Anniversary of the Clinton
        Figure Skating Club of Clinton, New York
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize  and
pay  tribute  to those renowned organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
commemorate the 77th Anniversary of the Clinton Figure Skating  Club  of
Clinton, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  The  Clinton Figure Skating Club is a member of the United
States Figure Skating Association  and  is  one  of  the  oldest  figure
skating  clubs  in  the  country;  it also is one of the largest skating
clubs on the East Coast; and
 
  WHEREAS, Since its founding in 1949, the Clinton Figure Skating Club
has grown into one of the best skating clubs in New York State  and  its
members feature some of the top figure skaters in the area; and
 
  WHEREAS, The Clinton Figure Skating Club is a volunteer organization
comprised  of  many  committees and operated largely by parents of young
skaters and uses year-long fundraising efforts to  provide  ice  rental,
group  coach payments, team competition costumes and entry fees, and all
the means necessary to host its renowned annual ice show; and
 
  WHEREAS, A testament to  Clinton  Figure  Skating  Club's  committed
volunteers, supportive community, and dedication to the sport of hockey,
the  club was named the winner of the coveted national Kraft Hockeyville
prize in 2018; and
 
  WHEREAS, In recognition of the  club's  storied  past,  the  Clinton
Historical  Society  will  present  a new exhibition titled "A Legacy on
Ice:  Clinton Figure Skating Club 1949-2025"; the new exhibition focuses
on 75 years of the skating organization and was marked with a  reception
on  Sunday, January 25, 2026, and remains open to the public through May
2026; and
 
  WHEREAS, It is  with  great  pleasure  that  this  Legislative  Body
acknowledges  this  exceptional  organization,  its  numerous  important
contributions, and its vibrant role in improving the quality of life  in
its  community,  fully  confident  that  it  will  continue to enjoy the
sparkling successes it has experienced thus far; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
commemorate  the  77th Anniversary of the Clinton Figure Skating Club of
Clinton, New York; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to the Clinton Figure Skating Club.
