COMMEMORATING the 65th Anniversary of the Lake
Delta Kiwanis Club of Rome, New York
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
pay tribute to those organizations of high purpose and worthy
accomplishment whose endeavors have faithfully served the welfare of the
citizens of the State of New York; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 65th Anniversary of the Lake Delta Kiwanis Club to be
celebrated at the Delta Lake Inn in Rome, New York, on Wednesday,
December 4, 2024; and
WHEREAS, On December 2, 1959, Lake Delta Kiwanis Club of Rome, New
York, was founded with the mission to serve local communities by
improving the lives of children in Oneida County; those individuals who
support this mission care about children; they are like-minded
individuals who voluntarily make a difference in their community; and
WHEREAS, Kiwanians are part of a global network of clubs and members
who partner with one another and with organizations whose missions align
with their own; Kiwanis International serves the underprivileged
children throughout the world; and
WHEREAS, Kiwanis members support the Kiwanis causes: health and
nutrition; education and literacy; and youth leadership development;
these dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to make a lasting and
positive impact in the lives of children from infancy to early
adulthood; and
WHEREAS, The Lake Delta Kiwanis Club is heavily involved in numerous
activities and programs for the community; dinners, craft fairs,
raffles, and breakfasts are only a few of the fundraising events
throughout the year; and
WHEREAS, Actively aiding the community, the Lake Delta Kiwanis Club
collects school supplies and Christmas toys, receives donations for
lunch programs for school-age children, displays the United States flags
throughout the City of Rome, maintains the Vietnam Memorial, sponsors
dinners to honor the veterans of the United States Armed Forces, and
sends children to Kamp Kiwanis; and
WHEREAS, The success of the Lake Delta Kiwanis Club is in direct
correlation to the efforts of its 13 members, whose involvement is, and
always has been, characterized by an impressive commitment, an unbridled
enthusiasm, and an uncompromising standard of excellence in all
endeavors; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals and organizations of such noble aims and accomplishments are
brought to our attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by
all the citizens of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 65th Anniversary of the Lake Delta Kiwanis Club of Rome
and to honor its members, past and present, who have labored so
conscientiously to secure and improve the quality of life for the
citizens of the community; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Lake Delta Kiwanis Club of Rome.
