        HONORING  Mary  Piven  upon  the occasion of being
        recognized at  the  Dr.  Martin  Luther  King,  Jr.,
        Visionary Awards Gala
 
  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those exceptional  individuals  whose  professional  excellence,
entrepreneurial  vision,  and  commitment to community uplift embody the
enduring legacy and moral leadership of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Mary Piven upon the occasion of her recognition at the Dr. Martin Luther
King,  Jr.,  Visionary Awards Gala to be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026;
and
 
  WHEREAS, Mary Piven is a visionary entrepreneur and strategic leader
whose inspiring journey from Kyiv, Ukraine, to New  York  City  reflects
resilience,   courage,   and   an   unwavering  commitment  to  service,
opportunity, and excellence; and
 
  WHEREAS, Mary Piven is the Founder and Chief  Executive  Officer  of
Mary Piven, Inc., doing business as Clean2Clean, a certified woman-owned
enterprise   that  is  reshaping  standards  of  cleaning  and  facility
management across New York City's public and private sectors; and
 
  WHEREAS, Mary Piven began her entrepreneurial career  in  2008  when
she launched Center Clean in Kyiv, Ukraine, building the company through
diligence,  discipline,  and a culture of excellence that quickly earned
the trust of residential and commercial clients alike; and
 
  WHEREAS, In 2014, motivated by a bold vision for growth  and  global
impact,  Mary  Piven  relocated  to the United States, bringing with her
academic degrees in pedagogy and economics and a steadfast belief in the
transformative power of education, perseverance,  and  entrepreneurship;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  In  2016, Mary Piven founded Clean2Clean in New York City,
expanding the company from a modest residential service  into  a  highly
respected  contractor,  which  serves  business and government partners,
earning  Women  Business  Enterprise   (WBE),   Disadvantaged   Business
Enterprise    (DBE),    and    School   Construction   Authority   (SCA)
certifications; and
 
  WHEREAS, Under Mary  Piven's  dynamic  leadership,  Clean2Clean  has
built  a  diverse  portfolio  of  clients,  including  the New York City
Department of Education, NYCHA, CUNY, Hunter College, the Department  of
Design   and   Construction,  the  Department  of  Youth  and  Community
Development, and numerous leading construction firms; and
 
  WHEREAS,  During  the  unprecedented  challenges  of  the   COVID-19
pandemic,  Mary Piven demonstrated adaptive and courageous leadership by
transforming company operations to meet urgent  public  health  demands,
expanding  into  disinfection and post-construction services, protecting
 
jobs, and  supporting  the  continuity  of  New  York  City's  essential
infrastructure; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Beyond  business  success,  Mary  Piven  is  a  passionate
advocate for sustainable cleaning solutions, workforce empowerment,  and
ethical  industry standards while mentoring immigrant workers, promoting
professional  training  in  safety  and  environmental  practices,   and
uplifting those seeking economic mobility; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Mary Piven's forward-looking initiatives include expanding
eco-friendly janitorial product distribution and establishing a training
and innovation center designed to foster education,  skill  development,
and career advancement; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Mary  Piven's  life  and  work  affirm  the principle that
entrepreneurship is definitively a form of  public  service,  a  vehicle
through  which  dignity,  stability,  and  opportunity  are  created for
individuals, families, and communities; and
 
  WHEREAS, Mary Piven's journey stands  as  a  powerful  testament  to
determination,   faith,   and  purpose,  inspiring  women  in  business,
immigrant entrepreneurs, and future leaders to pursue  excellence  while
uplifting others; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mary Piven, upon the occasion of her recognition at the Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr., Visionary Awards Gala, and  to  commend  her  for  her
entrepreneurial  leadership,  community impact, and steadfast commitment
to opportunity and empowerment; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Mary Piven as a lasting expression of the highest respect
and admiration of this Legislative Body.
