Senate Resolution No. 1658

        CONGRATULATING  Shelly-Ann  O.  Wilkinson upon the
        occasion  of  her  retirement  after  38  years   of
        distinguished public service to the City of New York
 
  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend  those  exemplary  public  servants  whose  careers  reflect  an
unwavering  commitment  to  justice,  equity,  and the betterment of the
communities they serve; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
congratulate Shelly-Ann O. Wilkinson upon the occasion of her retirement
on July 21, 2025, after 38 years of dedicated and honorable service; and
 
  WHEREAS, A native of Brooklyn, New York, Shelly-Ann O. Wilkinson has
built a distinguished career as  an  Associate  Investigator,  community
leader,  and tireless advocate whose work in employment and disciplinary
discrimination investigations, prevailing wage enforcement,  and  public
administration has positively impacted countless lives; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Throughout  her  tenure,  Shelly-Ann O. Wilkinson has been
steadfast in her  pursuit  of  fairness  and  accountability,  resolving
workplace    conflicts   through   mediation   and   conciliation,   and
investigating complaints related to  child  support  enforcement,  equal
employment   opportunity,   prevailing  wage  compliance,  and  employee
discipline with diligence and integrity; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Her  professional  contributions  have   extended   beyond
investigations  alone,  including  facilitating  conflict resolution for
employees,  assisting  residents  in  securing  reimbursement  of  child
support  payments,  and  supporting equitable workplace practices across
city systems; and
 
  WHEREAS, Deeply committed  to  service  beyond  her  formal  duties,
Shelly-Ann  O. Wilkinson has volunteered her time and talents with union
and community board committees, demonstrating an enduring dedication  to
civic engagement and grassroots advocacy; and
 
  WHEREAS,  A  proud and active member of District Council 37, she has
uplifted fellow workers through solidarity,  mentorship,  and  advocacy,
while  also  embodying  personal  growth  and  leadership as a member of
Toastmasters; and
 
  WHEREAS, Her compassion for community is further  reflected  in  her
volunteerism-supporting  church  food  pantries  and  neighborhood  food
distribution efforts to  ensure  families  in  need  are  nourished  and
supported; and
 
  WHEREAS,   Recognized  for  her  leadership,  empathy,  and  vision,
Shelly-Ann O. Wilkinson  leaves  public  service  having  established  a
legacy  defined  by  justice,  empowerment,  and meaningful impact; now,
therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
congratulate Shelly-Ann O. Wilkinson upon the occasion of her retirement
on  July 21, 2025, and to express its deepest gratitude for her years of
faithful service to the people of the  City  of  New  York;  and  be  it
further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Shelly-Ann O. Wilkinson as a token  of  this  Legislative
Body's  esteem  and  appreciation,  along  with  best wishes for health,
fulfillment, and continued service in all her future endeavors.
