HONORING the Grand Marshal, King, and Queen of the
23rd Annual Irish Parade of Camden, New York
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to
individuals of true purpose and worthy accomplishment who work
diligently to preserve and celebrate their rich cultural heritage; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
the Grand Marshal, King, and Queen of the 23rd Annual Irish Parade of
Camden, New York, on Sunday, March 1, 2026; and
WHEREAS, The tradition of the Irish Parade of Camden is steeped in
years of history and brings members of the community and those from
further reaches together in celebration of Irish culture and
accomplishments; and
WHEREAS, The Grant Marshal of this year's Irish Parade is James
Plumley, a lifelong resident who exhibits great St. Patrick's Day pride,
as well as pride for his beloved community; and
WHEREAS, A graduate from Camden Schools and SUNY Oswego, James
Plumley is the president of Image Greater Camden, which is a non-profit
similar to a local chamber of commerce that supports the Camden
Community; he has also served his community for over 30 years through
his business, Carpenter's Hardware; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his lifetime, James Plumley has dedicated
countless hours to community service efforts throughout the Camden area,
and his love for his community is only rivaled by his love for his wife,
Danielle, and daughter, Maggie; and
WHEREAS, The esteemed 2026 Parade King and Queen are Chuck and
Ashley Hurd, residents of Camden whose devotion to community and spirit
of humanity shine bright in all their worthy endeavors; and
WHEREAS, The talents acts highlighted during the Annual Irish Parade
will serve to inspire festive cheer while honoring the important Irish
roots and influences which have shaped music for centuries; and
WHEREAS, Through this heartfelt and compassionate expression, as
well as through their sustained commitment to the cultural vitality of
their Irish heritage, the Irish American people of the Camden area and
the State of New York bear witness to the deep faith and love of
humanity which is their rich tradition; and
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are brought to our
attention, they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the great State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the Grand Marshal, King, and Queen of the 23rd Annual Irish Parade
of Camden, New York; and be it further
RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Grand Marshal James Plumley and King and Queen, Chuck and
Ashley Hurd.
