CONGRATULATING Wesley Fuller upon the occasion of
winning the NYSPHSAA Alpine Skiing State
Championship on February 24, 2026
WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic
achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such
excellence and, through their dedication and integrity, become inspiring
examples for the youth of this great Empire State; and
WHEREAS, Athletic competition enhances both the moral and physical
development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling perseverance in the face of adversity, discipline in
preparation, humility in victory, and respect for teammates and
competitors alike; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate
Wesley Fuller upon the occasion of winning the NYSPHSAA Alpine Skiing
State Championship on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at Bristol Mountain
Ski Resort in Canandaigua, New York; an achievement which reflects not
only exceptional athletic talent, but years of early mornings, rigorous
training, and unwavering commitment to personal excellence; and
WHEREAS, Family, friends, teammates, teachers, and the Queensbury
community loyally and enthusiastically supported Wesley Fuller
throughout his journey, celebrating not only his victories, but also the
character, sportsmanship, and quiet determination he consistently
demonstrated; and
WHEREAS, On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the Queensbury freshman
captured boys' slalom and combined titles in the Alpine portion of the
competition, making him the fourth Spartan to win a New York State
slalom championship and the fifth Queensbury alpine skier to be crowned
a combined state champion; and
WHEREAS, Added to the program's combined state champion chart,
Wesley Fuller posted the fastest times on both his first (49.17 seconds)
and second (52.76) runs for a combined 1:41.93; and
WHEREAS, In a sport such as cross-country skiing, which demands
extraordinary endurance, mental toughness, technical precision, and
resilience in the face of challenging winter conditions, Wesley Fuller
distinguished himself through both physical strength and steadfast
resolve; and
WHEREAS, Under the guidance of his coach, whose leadership,
mentorship, and belief in his athletes extend far beyond competition,
Wesley Fuller refined his skills and embraced lessons of accountability,
teamwork, and perseverance which will serve him well throughout his
life; and
WHEREAS, Wesley Fuller's championship performance stands as a
testament to what can be accomplished through hard work, sacrifice, and
belief in oneself, bringing pride to his school, his community, and the
State of New York; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor and congratulate Wesley Fuller upon the occasion of winning the
NYSPHSAA Alpine Skiing State Championship on February 24, 2026,
recognizing not only his athletic triumph but the exemplary character he
has shown throughout his career; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Wesley Fuller.
