CONGRATULATING Christopher Katsoulis upon the
occasion of receiving the distinguished rank of
Eagle Scout, the most prestigious of Scouting
honors, on March 22, 2026
WHEREAS, Christopher Katsoulis, through his diligence and rigorous
efforts, has achieved Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank,
Eagle Scout; the Eagle Court of Honor ceremony will be held on Sunday,
March 22, 2026, at the Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department Company No. 2
in Manhasset, New York; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Katsoulis is a member of Scouts BSA Troop 71,
Plandome, New York; and
WHEREAS, Scouts BSA and its members are dedicated to the development
of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation; and
WHEREAS, The highest achievement of leadership in Scouting, earned
by approximately five percent of all Scouts, is the distinguished rank
of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Katsoulis began his scouting journey as a Tiger
in Pack 3, eventually earning the Arrow of Light, the highest honor in
Cub Scouting; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his years in the program, Christopher Katsoulis
developed a deep love for the outdoors, often camping through snow,
hail, and rain; highlighting his scouting career was a trip to Maine
High Adventure this past summer, where he traveled over 90 miles by
canoe in a single week, while fishing, camping, whitewater rafting, and
bonding with friends around the campfire; and
WHEREAS, As a natural leader, Christopher Katsoulis served as
Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, and Assistant Senior Patrol
Leader, roles that allowed him to mentor fellow scouts and refine his
leadership skills; and
WHEREAS, This outstanding young man has been involved in Scouting
for many years, has lived up to Scouting's ideals and has attained all
the necessary achievements, including completion of a community service
project, which was successfully planned, developed, and executed; and
WHEREAS, For his project, Christopher Katsoulis led the renovation
of an overgrown trail in Udall's Park Preserve; for more than 100 hours,
he managed a team of 30 volunteers to clear 400 linear feet of debris;
he fundraised for woodchips and lumber to pave the path and construct a
12-foot bridge over a creek, successfully connecting two sides of the
preserve for the Great Neck community to enjoy; and
WHEREAS, His dedication to the safety and well-being of the citizens
of his community is represented through his project and demonstrates his
devotion to both community and commitment to others; and
WHEREAS, Currently a sophomore at Manhasset High School, Christopher
Katsoulis balances his rigorous academics with passions for the
Engineering and Theater clubs; he is pursuing an engineering path with
plans to continue his studies at the collegiate level; and
WHEREAS, Beyond the classroom, Christopher Katsoulis has been a
dedicated member of the Manhasset Crew Team since 2022, contributing to
several medal-winning boats; and
WHEREAS, Christopher Katsoulis' perseverance in rising through the
ranks to Eagle Scout is a strong indication of his ability to master
difficult tasks; his accomplishment will enable him to emerge as a
leader, fully equipped to meet the challenges of today's complex
society; and
WHEREAS, This new Eagle Scout is a credit to his family, his school,
his community, his State, and his Nation, and may now stand with pride
as he assess his achievements, experiences the satisfaction of his
labors and the joy of his accomplishments, eager to face the new
experiences of a challenging world; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations, in
recognition of the significance of this meritorious achievement, to
congratulate and honor Christopher Katsoulis on achieving the rank of
Eagle Scout; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Christopher Katsoulis.
