Senate Resolution No. 1696

        CONGRATULATING   Nicholas   Katsoulis   upon   the
        occasion of  receiving  the  distinguished  rank  of
        Eagle   Scout,  the  most  prestigious  of  Scouting
        honors, on March 22, 2026
 
  WHEREAS, Nicholas Katsoulis,  through  his  diligence  and  rigorous
efforts,  has  achieved  Scouting's  highest  and most prestigious rank,
Eagle Scout; the Eagle Court of Honor ceremony will be held  on  Sunday,
March  22, 2026, at the Manhasset Lakeville Fire Department, Company No.
2 in Manhasset, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Nicholas Katsoulis is a member  of  Scouts  BSA  Troop  71,
Plandome, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Scouts BSA and its members are dedicated to the development
of character and leadership in the youth of this Nation; and
 
  WHEREAS,  The  highest achievement of leadership in Scouting, earned
by approximately five percent of all Scouts, is the  distinguished  rank
of Eagle Scout; and
 
  WHEREAS,  This  outstanding  young man has been involved in Scouting
for many years, has lived up to Scouting's ideals and has  attained  all
the  necessary achievements, including completion of a community service
project, which was successfully planned, developed, and executed; and
 
  WHEREAS, Nicholas Katsoulis began his Scouting journey in the  first
grade as a Tiger Cub in Pack 3 where he earned the Arrow of Light honor;
after  joining  Troop 71, he continuously grew as a Scout, achieving the
rank of Senior Patrol Leader; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Furthermore,  Nicholas  Katsoulis  distinguished   himself
through  his  commitment  to  selfless  service through the Order of the
Arrow, completing both the Ordeal and Brotherhood; and
 
  WHEREAS, For his project, Nicholas Katsoulis planned and led efforts
to clear and create hiking paths along Udall's Cove Preserve  perimeter,
improving   safety  and  accessibility  for  the  community;  through  a
fundraising partnership, he raised the resources necessary to clear  100
yards  of  existing  trail,  constructed  steps and retaining walls, and
established additional pathways for residents of Great Neck to enjoy for
years to come; and
 
  WHEREAS, Nicholas Katsoulis, currently a junior  at  Manhasset  High
School,  has  spent  five  years  competing  on  the  Varsity  Track and
Cross-Country teams; his dedication and  perseverance  have  earned  him
numerous  honors, including All Long Island, All State, and All American
recognitions; and
 
  WHEREAS, A well-rounded student, Nicholas Katsoulis is  involved  in
Theater,  American  Sign  Language Club, and Broadcast Journalism, where
his work has been recognized by the Student Television Network; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Nicholas  Katsoulis's  dedication  to   the   safety   and
well-being  of  the  citizens  of  New  York  is represented through his
project and demonstrates his devotion to both community  and  commitment
to others; and
 
  WHEREAS,  As  he  goes  forward,  Nicholas Katsoulis plans to remain
active in Troop 71 and the Order of the Arrow, continuing to uphold  the
ideals and principles of Scouting America; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Nicholas  Katsoulis's  perseverance  in rising through the
ranks to Eagle Scout is a strong indication of  his  ability  to  master
difficult  tasks;  his  accomplishment  will  enable  him to emerge as a
leader, fully  equipped  to  meet  the  challenges  of  today's  complex
society; and
 
  WHEREAS, This new Eagle Scout is a credit to his family, his school,
his  community,  his State, and his Nation, and may now stand with pride
as he assess his  achievements,  experiences  the  satisfaction  of  his
labors,  and  the  joy  of  his  accomplishments,  eager to face the new
experiences of a challenging world; now, therefore be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
congratulate  Nicholas  Katsoulis  upon  the  occasion  of receiving the
distinguished rank of Eagle Scout,  the  most  prestigious  of  Scouting
honors, on March 22, 2026; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Eagle Scout Charles Jettner.
