COMMEMORATING the 50th Anniversary of The
Addiction Center of Broome County
WHEREAS, It is the intent of this Legislative Body to recognize that
the quality of life in the communities across this great State of New
York is enriched by the concerned and dedicated efforts of those
organizations of distinction whose singular purpose is the care and
welfare of others; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of The Addiction Center of Broome
County; and
WHEREAS, Founded in 1975, The Addiction Center of Broome County,
known as ACBC, is a longstanding community-based organization in
Binghamton, New York, dedicated to helping individuals and families
affected by substance use disorders; and
WHEREAS, ACBC provides outpatient and intensive outpatient treatment
options, including individual, group, and family counseling, relapse
prevention programs, and co-occurring disorder support for those facing
both mental health and substance use challenges; and
WHEREAS, Utilizing a trauma-informed approach, ACBC ensures that
clients receive compassionate care that addresses both addiction and its
root causes, helping to build a foundation for lasting recovery; it
offers Health Home Care Management, which connects clients to medical,
housing, and social services, as well as peer recovery programs; and
WHEREAS, ACBC works across Broome and surrounding counties,
including locations in Binghamton and Endicott, to make treatment
accessible throughout the region; and
WHEREAS, Committed to removing barriers to treatment, The Addiction
Center of Broome County offers a sliding fee scale to ensure that no one
is denied care due to financial limitations; and
WHEREAS, By combining evidence-based practices with human
connection, ACBC continues to serve as a trusted provider of addiction
treatment and recovery support; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body recognizes the vital importance of
The Addiction Center of Broome County in providing excellence in care
through prevention, education and treatment, and its evident commitment
to this mission; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 50th Anniversary of The Addiction Center of Broome
County, a trusted and vital institution within the community; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Addiction Center of Broome County.
