        MEMORIALIZING  Governor  Kathy  Hochul to proclaim
        April 12-18, 2026, as Architecture Week in the State
        of New York
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of  this  Legislative  Body  to  recognize
official  weeks  and  days  designated  to  raise awareness of important
issues and professions that shape the quality of life of the citizens of
New York State; and
 
  WHEREAS,  In  keeping  with  its  long-standing   traditions,   this
Legislative Body is justly proud to memorialize Governor Kathy Hochul to
proclaim  April  12-18,  2026,  as Architecture Week in the State of New
York, in conjunction with the national observance of Architecture  Week;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  Architecture  plays  a  vital  role  in  shaping the built
environment of our communities, influencing the safety,  sustainability,
resiliency,  accessibility,  and overall quality of life for millions of
New Yorkers; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Architects  are  licensed  professionals  entrusted   with
protecting  the  public  health,  safety,  and  welfare,  and their work
contributes to the design  of  schools,  hospitals,  homes,  workplaces,
transportation  systems,  and  civic institutions that serve communities
across the State of New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, New York has long been recognized as a national  leader  in
climate  action,  and  architects  are  central to achieving the state's
goals through the design of resilient  infrastructure,  energy-efficient
buildings,  and  communities  capable of adapting to a changing climate;
and
 
  WHEREAS, Throughout New York State, architects work  in  partnership
with  public  officials,  community  leaders,  engineers,  planners, and
developers to deliver projects that support economic growth,  strengthen
neighborhoods, and improve the daily lives of residents; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Architecture Week provides an opportunity to recognize the
contributions of architects, celebrate the value of  thoughtful  design,
and  encourage  the next generation of New Yorkers to explore careers in
architecture and the design professions; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
memorialize  Governor  Kathy  Hochul  to  proclaim April 12-18, 2026, as
Architecture Week in the State of New  York,  in  conjunction  with  the
national observance of Architecture Week; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to The Honorable Kathy Hochul, Governor of the State of  New
York.
