        CONGRATULATING  the  Frewsburg  High  School Girls
        Basketball Team upon the occasion of  capturing  the
        NYSPHSAA Class C Championship on March 21, 2026
 
  WHEREAS,  It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend those exemplary student-athletes whose achievements bring  honor
and distinction to their schools, their communities, and the great State
of New York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Athletic competition at the interscholastic level instills
in young people the values of discipline,  perseverance,  teamwork,  and
sportsmanship,  while  fostering a sense of unity and pride that extends
far beyond the court; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
longstanding  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud to
congratulate the Frewsburg High School Girls Basketball  Team  upon  the
occasion  of  capturing  the  NYSPHSAA Class C Championship on Saturday,
March 21, 2026, at Hudson Valley Community College in  Troy,  New  York;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  This outstanding accomplishment represents the culmination
of  a  season  marked  by  dedication,  resilience,  and  an  unwavering
commitment to excellence by a talented group of student-athletes, guided
by experienced coaches and supported by a proud school community; and
 
  WHEREAS,  In the championship contest, the Frewsburg Bears displayed
extraordinary  determination  and  resolve,  overcoming  a  double-digit
deficit  after  the  first  quarter  and  demonstrating  the  poise  and
confidence necessary to compete at the highest level; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Through  disciplined  execution,   timely   scoring,   and
tenacious  defensive  play,  the team steadily regained momentum, taking
the lead in the second half and refusing to relinquish it in the face of
a determined opponent; and
 
  WHEREAS, The Bears' composure under pressure proved decisive in  the
final minutes of the game, as they delivered a flawless performance from
the   free-throw  line  and  combined  defensive  stops  with  efficient
offensive execution to secure a hard-fought 59-52 victory; and
 
  WHEREAS, This championship victory is a testament not  only  to  the
exceptional  talent  and  perseverance  of  the players, but also to the
leadership, preparation, and dedication of the coaching  staff  and  the
unwavering  support of family members, school officials, and the greater
community; and
 
  WHEREAS, By capturing back-to-back NYSPHSAA Class  C  Championships,
the  Frewsburg High School Girls Basketball Team has achieved a rare and
distinguished feat, becoming one of only a select number of programs  in
New  York  State history to do so and the first Section VI girls program
to accomplish this milestone in more than two decades; and
 
  WHEREAS, The success of this  team  exemplifies  the  very  best  of
interscholastic  athletics, inspiring fellow students and young athletes
while  bringing  great  pride  and  distinction  to  their  school   and
community; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Frewsburg High School  Girls  Basketball
Team:  Jadyn  Trocki,  Jaden Jimerson, Presleigh Stelmack, Leah Pasieka,
Charlie Lombardo, Alexis Darling,  Rozlyn  Haglund,  Lucy  Moore,  Greta
Gilevski, Abery Harvey, and Elysse Gruber; Team Managers Griffin Beaver,
Blakely  Beaver,  Brynn Butzer, Oaklyn Moller, Aubrie Swanson, and Avery
Smith; Coaches Sierra Beaver,  Sandy  Ruhlman,  Jamie  Sposato,  Madigan
Collver,  and  Mallory  Smith; Administrators Jennifer Armella and Terry
Gray; and Athletic Trainer Charlie Oviatt; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That the Frewsburg High School Girls  Basketball  Team  is
hereby   recognized   for   its   exceptional  achievement,  outstanding
sportsmanship, and  dedication  to  excellence  in  capturing  the  2026
NYSPHSAA Class C Championship; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  copies  of  this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the aforementioned members of the Frewsburg  High  School
Girls Basketball Team.
