        HONORING  Jamie  Banks  upon  the  occasion of her
        designation for  special  recognition  by  Residents
        Forward on June 4, 2026
 
  WHEREAS,  It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend  individuals  whose  professional  achievement,  entrepreneurial
vision,  and civic commitment have positively impacted their communities
and served as an inspiration to others; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Rachelle  Jamie  Banks  upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition by Residents Forward to be celebrated at its Annual Gala  on
Thursday, June 4, 2026, at The Manhasset Bay Yacht Club; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Jamie  Banks is the founder of Change of Scenery, a luxury
swim and resortwear brand based in Port Washington  that  is  recognized
for  its  timeless design, thoughtful fit, and commitment to sustainable
materials and responsible production practices; and
 
  WHEREAS, Following a distinguished  career  spanning  more  than  20
years   in  the  fashion  industry,  including  over  a  decade  leading
ready-to-wear design at Kate  Spade,  Jamie  Banks  launched  Change  of
Scenery  in  2022  with the vision of creating chic, supportive swimwear
that empowers women to feel confident and comfortable  on  vacation  and
beyond; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Through  Jamie  Banks'  leadership and creative direction,
Change of Scenery has achieved notable success and is sold  through  its
own  online platform as well as respected retailers including Nordstrom,
Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's, and  specialty  boutiques  throughout
the United States; and
 
  WHEREAS,  A  longtime resident of Port Washington and devoted mother
of three, Jamie Banks has built a  business  grounded  in  her  personal
values of environmental responsibility, thoughtful design, and community
engagement; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Change  of  Scenery  utilizes  recycled  materials  in the
production of its swimwear and is a proud member of 1% for  the  Planet,
donating  a  portion  of sales to environmental causes and organizations
dedicated to conservation and sustainability; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Through  this  partnership,  Change  of  Scenery   proudly
supports  Residents  Forward  and  its  ongoing  mission  to protect and
preserve the Port Washington community and its natural beauty; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Jamie  Banks  recognizes  that  while   product   creation
inevitably   carries   an   environmental   impact,  businesses  have  a
responsibility  to  reduce  that  impact  wherever  they   can   through
responsible   sourcing,   sustainable   materials,   and   conscientious
production methods; and
 
  WHEREAS, From its  inception,  Change  of  Scenery  has  prioritized
environmentally  responsible practices in an effort to create beautiful,
high-quality products while minimizing its environmental footprint; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Jamie  Banks remains deeply grateful to live and raise her
family in Port Washington and is honored to support the  important  work
Residents  Forward  undertakes to preserve and enhance the community for
future generations; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
honor  Jamie  Banks  upon  the  occasion  of her designation for special
recognition by Residents Forward on June 4, 2026, and to extend  to  her
its    highest   commendation   and   sincere   appreciation   for   her
entrepreneurial leadership,  environmental  stewardship,  and  dedicated
service to the Port Washington community; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Jamie Banks.
