Senate Resolution No. 2196

        CONGRATULATING Maksym Walters upon the occasion of
        receiving the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the
        most prestigious of Scouting honors, on May 31, 2026
 
  WHEREAS, Maksym Walters, through his diligence and rigorous efforts,
has  attained Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank, Eagle Scout;
the Eagle Court of Honor ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 31,  2026,
at Mineola High School in Garden City Park, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Maksym Walters is a member of Scouts BSA Troop 45, Mineola,
New York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Maksym  Walters  has  achieved this high honor through his
steadfast  commitment  to  the   principles   of   Scouting,   including
leadership, service, citizenship, and personal responsibility; and
 
  WHEREAS,  A  resident  of  Mineola,  New  York,  Maksym  Walters has
demonstrated excellence both academically  and  athletically  throughout
his high school career at Mineola High School, Class of 2026; and
 
  WHEREAS,   Maksym   Walters   has   distinguished   himself  through
participation  in  numerous  athletic  programs,  including  basketball,
baseball,  and  golf, reflecting discipline, teamwork, and perseverance;
and
 
  WHEREAS, Maksym Walters has earned recognition for his  achievements
in  Scouting,  including  the  Patrol of the Year Award and the Northern
Tier High Adventure 100 Mile Award, demonstrating endurance, leadership,
and commitment to outdoor adventure; and
 
  WHEREAS, As part of the requirements for attaining the rank of Eagle
Scout, Maksym Walters  completed  a  meaningful  and  impactful  service
project  for  the  Albertson Fire Department, constructing a bunker gear
drying system consisting of a portable wooden base and a PVC piping  air
distribution  system  connected to a dryer capable of servicing multiple
sets of turnout gear, thereby  significantly  improving  efficiency  and
safety for local firefighters; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Maksym  Walters  began his Scouting journey with Cub Scout
Pack 246 in Mineola, New York, earning the Arrow of Light Award on March
28, 2019, before continuing his advancement with Scouts  BSA  Troop  45;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  Through  years  of  perseverance  and  dedication,  Maksym
Walters advanced through the ranks of Scout, Tenderfoot,  Second  Class,
First Class, Star Scout, and Life Scout, ultimately completing his Eagle
Scout  project on February 5, 2026, successfully passing his Eagle Scout
Board of Review on April 7, 2026, and earning the rank of  Eagle  Scout;
and
 
  WHEREAS,  Throughout  his Scouting journey, Maksym Walters served in
leadership  roles  including  Patrol  Leader,  Assistant  Senior  Patrol
 
Leader,  and Quartermaster, exemplifying responsibility, leadership, and
service to his troop; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Maksym Walters earned an impressive array of merit badges,
including required badges such as Camping, Citizenship in the Community,
Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in Society,  Citizenship  in  the
World, Communications, Cooking, Lifesaving, Environmental Science, First
Aid,  Swimming,  Personal Management, Personal Fitness, and Family Life,
as well  as  elective  merit  badges  including  Canoeing,  Collections,
Fingerprinting,  Fishing,  Leatherwork, Model Design and Building, Rifle
Shooting, and Search and Rescue; and
 
  WHEREAS, Maksym Walters has demonstrated outstanding  dedication  to
service,  leadership,  and  personal excellence, earning the respect and
admiration of his family, friends, fellow Scouts, and community members;
and
 
  WHEREAS, This  Legislative  Body  pauses  in  its  deliberations  to
recognize that Maksym Walters is a credit to his family, his school, his
community,  his  State, and his Nation, and his future is expected to be
marked by continued achievement and service; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
congratulate  Maksym  Walters upon the occasion of receiving the rank of
Eagle Scout, the highest honor bestowed by the Boy  Scouts  of  America,
and  to  commend  him  for  his  dedication  to service, leadership, and
excellence; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Maksym Walters.
