CONGRATULATING Kai Henrichs upon the occasion of
receiving the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout, the
most prestigious of Scouting honors, on May 31, 2026
WHEREAS, Kai Henrichs, through his diligence and rigorous efforts,
has attained Scouting's highest and most prestigious rank, Eagle Scout;
the Eagle Court of Honor ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 31, 2026,
at Mineola High School in Garden City Park, New York; and
WHEREAS, Kai Henrichs is a member of Scouts BSA Troop 45, Mineola,
New York; and
WHEREAS, Kai Henrichs has achieved this high honor through his
steadfast commitment to the principles of Scouting, including
leadership, service, citizenship, and personal responsibility; and
WHEREAS, A resident of Franklin Square, New York, Kai Henrichs was
born on April 2, 2008, and has demonstrated excellence both academically
and within his community; and
WHEREAS, Kai Henrichs attended H. Frank Carey High School, Class of
2026, where he distinguished himself through participation in numerous
extracurricular activities, including the Sewanhaka District Varsity
Swim Team, Long Island Express Swim Club, Senior High Chorus, and Youth
Alive Club; and
WHEREAS, Kai Henrichs has earned multiple awards recognizing his
athletic excellence and leadership, including Most Improved Swimmer,
Coaches Award, Captains Award, and Honor Patrol of the Year; and
WHEREAS, As part of the requirements for attaining the rank of Eagle
Scout, Kai Henrichs completed a meaningful and lasting service project
involving the renovation of the courtyard at St. John's Lutheran Church,
including removal of overgrowth and shrubbery, installation of a stone
border wall with weed barrier fabric, and construction of a stone patio
and courtyard table, thereby creating a functional and welcoming outdoor
community space; and
WHEREAS, Kai Henrichs began his Scouting journey with Cub Scout Pack
372 in Franklin Square, New York, earning the Arrow of Light Award on
March 2, 2019, before continuing his advancement with Scouts BSA Troop
45 in Mineola; and
WHEREAS, Through years of perseverance and commitment, Kai Henrichs
advanced through the ranks of Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First
Class, Star Scout, and Life Scout, ultimately completing his Eagle Scout
project on May 7, 2025, successfully passing his Eagle Scout Board of
Review on September 28, 2025, and earning the rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, Throughout his Scouting journey, Kai Henrichs served in
leadership roles including Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader,
Scribe, and Senior Patrol Leader, exemplifying responsibility,
leadership, and service to his troop; and
WHEREAS, Kai Henrichs earned an impressive array of merit badges,
including required badges such as Camping, Citizenship in the Community,
Citizenship in the Nation, Citizenship in the World, Citizenship in
Society, Communications, Cooking, Lifesaving, Environmental Science,
First Aid, Swimming, Personal Fitness, Personal Management, and Family
Life, as well as elective merit badges including Canoeing, Kayaking,
Rowing, Rifle Shooting, Shotgun Shooting, Aviation, and Search and
Rescue; and
WHEREAS, Kai Henrichs has demonstrated outstanding dedication to
service, leadership, and personal excellence, earning the respect and
admiration of his family, friends, fellow Scouts, and community members;
and
WHEREAS, With aspirations to serve in the United States Marine Corps
in aviation avionics, Kai Henrichs exemplifies the values of discipline,
duty, and civic responsibility that define the finest traditions of
Scouting and citizenship; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body pauses in its deliberations to
recognize that Kai Henrichs is a credit to his family, his school, his
community, his State, and his Nation, and his future is expected to be
marked by continued achievement and service; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Kai Henrichs upon the occasion of receiving the rank of
Eagle Scout, the highest honor bestowed by the Boy Scouts of America,
and to commend him for his dedication to service, leadership, and
excellence; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Kai Henrichs.
