HONORING the 2024 recipients of the
Women-N-M.O.T.I.O.N. Award by the Young, Gifted, &
Black Entrepreneurial Awards Program
WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to take note of
and publicly acknowledge individuals who have distinguished themselves
through their exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives
of service to their community and their profession; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
the 2024 recipients of the Women-N-M.O.T.I.O.N. Award by the Young,
Gifted, & Black Entrepreneurial Awards Program, to be celebrated on May
19, 2024, in Brooklyn, New York; and
WHEREAS, Established in 2006 by President/CEO of the NetLinkz Group,
Inc., Carl O. Gray, the Young, Gifted & Black (YGB) Entrepreneurial
Awards Program recognizes individuals who continue to reach levels of
great success through hard work and determination, proving to be
inspiring role models to their community and peers; and
WHEREAS, The Women-N-M.O.T.I.O.N. Award aims to honor those
dedicated women who have distinguished themselves through their
exemplary careers, accomplishments, and purposeful lives of service to
their communities and profession; and
WHEREAS, This year's award recipients include: Anita Taylor,
District Director for the Congresswoman of the 9th District of New York;
Bridget D. Clyburn, MSN, RN, PMHNP-BC, Founder and CEO of Clyburn's
Mental Health Services for Women; Bridget Dunlop, BSN, RN, CEO of B.A.R.
Medical Spa; Dr. Cressada Glean-Brillant, Psychotherapist; Dwana S.
Marshall, Founder and Owner of Visions by Angel the Brand, LLC;
Mackenzie Evans, 1st Grade Lead Teacher at Success Academy Charter
School; Melanin Vallejos, COO, Women's Wellness Consultant & Event
Coordinator, The Melanin Movement, Inc.; Nicole Evans, MHC-LP, Lead
Clinician at Keep Smiling Therapy, Inc.; Raquel Miller, CEO, Bunchful
Enterprise; Samantha Lawrence, LMSW, DSW(c), Founder, NEL Foundation;
Shelly Browne, 8th Grade Guidance Counselor at I.S. 240 Andries Hudde
JHS; Stacy McKenzie, co-owner of Mike's Bar & Lounge; Stacy McLeod
Vickers, CEO of StacyMac Inc.; Tashawn Trinidad, Community Service
Leader; Aria F. Wright, Founder and Owner of The Industry Connection and
Brand Ambassador for Camus Cognac; Dr. Natalie Callis, DNP, RN-BC,
NEA-BC, CNL, CPXP, CSSBG, Chief Nursing Officer at Planned Parenthood of
Greater New York and Founder, President and Owner of Quintessential
Consulting, LLC; and Yashica Smith, Founder of Shicares Medspa; and
WHEREAS, Remaining true to its mission, the Young, Gifted & Black
Entrepreneurial Awards Program acknowledges the talent, ambition, and
achievements of African American and Caribbean professionals towards
their continued pursuit of success; and
WHEREAS, The Young, Gifted & Black Entrepreneurial Awards Program
was launched in honor of Black History Month and shines a light on
accomplished individuals who truly exemplify an entrepreneurial spirit;
and
WHEREAS, Within every community, there are inevitably women who, by
virtue of their energy, vision, and dedication, command the greatest
respect among their friends and colleagues, and within the community at
large; this year's awardees exemplify this notion; and
WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to commend
individuals of outstanding character, who have shown initiative and
commitment toward constantly pursuing higher goals for themselves, and
acting as role models of leadership to be emulated by both peers and
young people; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor the 2024 recipients of the Women-N-M.O.T.I.O.N. Award by the
Young, Gifted, & Black Entrepreneurial Awards Program; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the aforementioned honorees.
