        HONORING  Patricia  Fingeroth upon the occasion of
        her designation  as  recipient  of  the  Charles  H.
        Revson  Award  by  the Jewish Theological Seminary's
        Center for Pastoral Education on May 9, 2024
 
  WHEREAS, It is incumbent upon the people of the State of New York to
recognize  and  acknowledge  those  within  our  midst  who  have   made
significant contributions to the quality of life therein; and
 
  WHEREAS,  From  time  to  time  this  Legislative Body takes note of
certain extraordinary individuals  it  wishes  to  recognize  for  their
valued contributions to the success and progress of society and publicly
acknowledge their endeavors which have enhanced the basic humanity among
us all; and
 
  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative  Body  is justly proud to honor Patricia
Fingeroth upon the occasion of  her  designation  as  recipient  of  the
Charles  H. Revson Award by the Jewish Theological Seminary's Center for
Pastoral Education on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the  Jewish  Theological
Seminary in New York City; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Patricia  Fingeroth,  daughter  of Lois and Milton London,
grew up in Franklin Square, New York; she attended local public  schools
and graduated from Adelphi University; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Upon  the  completion  of  her studies, Patricia Fingeroth
served as a teacher and worked in educational institutions,  media,  and
publishing; and
 
  WHEREAS,  The  Center  for  Pastoral  Education,  part of the Jewish
Theological Seminary, has trained spiritual leaders to provide  comfort,
guidance, and support for people in need during difficult times of life,
through  a  transformational  education  process  open  to clergy of all
faiths; and
 
  WHEREAS, Patricia Fingeroth has been involved with  the  Center  for
Pastoral  Education  for  many  years,  serving as chair of the Advisory
Board; and
 
  WHEREAS,  With  a  steadfast  and  unwavering  commitment   to   her
community,  Patricia  Fingeroth has also served on the Program Committee
of DOROT, co-chairing its Spring Benefit Committee; and
 
  WHEREAS, Patricia and her husband, James, have been married  for  52
years;  together,  they  are  active  in  the  Berkshire Minyan in Great
Barrington; they are the proud parents of  their  son,  Bobby,  and  the
adoring grandparents of Maxwell Liu London; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Rare  indeed  is  the  impressive  dedication  shown by an
individual for the  benefit  of  others  which  Patricia  Fingeroth  has
displayed throughout her life; and
 
  WHEREAS,  It  has always been the objective of this Legislative Body
to  honor  and  support  those  individuals  who  have  displayed  their
commitment  to the betterment of their communities, and it is the intent
of this Legislative Body to inscribe upon its records, this  tribute  to
Patricia  Fingeroth, that future generations may know and appreciate her
admirable character, her many benevolent  deeds,  and  the  respect  and
esteem in which she is held by her peers; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Patricia  Fingeroth  upon  the  occasion  of  her  designation  as
recipient  of  the  Charles  H.  Revson  Award by the Jewish Theological
Seminary's Center for Pastoral Education on Thursday, May 9,  2024;  and
be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Patricia Fingeroth.
