MOURNING the death of Anthony John Gagliotti,
devoted husband, father, and grandfather,
distinguished citizen, and dedicated member of his
community
WHEREAS, Anthony John Gagliotti exemplified outstanding community
service and dedicated his life to his fellow New Yorkers; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body records, with profound sorrow, the
passing of Anthony John Gagliotti on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at the age
of 93, recognizing his significant life and contributions; and
WHEREAS, A lifelong resident of Croton-on-Hudson, New York, born on
October 20, 1931, to John and Agnesa (Ventrone) Gagliotti, Anthony John
Gagliotti embodied the values of his upbringing in the Great Depression,
where neighbor depended on neighbor, forging community connections; and
WHEREAS, For more than 75 years, Anthony John Gagliotti was an
active member of the Croton Volunteer Fire Department, including service
as Secretary of his company and Chief of Department; he demonstrated
dedication to public safety and concern for his neighbors; and
WHEREAS, Anthony John Gagliotti was a devoted member of the Holy
Name of Mary Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Lions
Club, contributing significantly to the life of his community; and
WHEREAS, Through his marriages to Jiovanna Canizzaro, Helen Ubaldi,
and Veronica Barnes, Anthony John Gagliotti created a loving blended
family, including his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren;
and
WHEREAS, His professional life, including terms as Assessor and
Assistant Building Inspector for the Village of Croton-on-Hudson, was
distinguished by professionalism and consideration; and
WHEREAS, Anthony John Gagliotti's vibrant spirit, love for people,
and community involvement made him a beloved figure, leaving a legacy of
service and earning him the Key to the Village of Croton-on-Hudson and
the honor of leading the 2024 Summerfest parade as its Grand Marshal;
and
WHEREAS, Anthony John Gagliotti's legacy of compassion and service
merits the grateful tribute of this Legislative Body; now, therefore, be
it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
mourn the death of Anthony John Gagliotti and express its deepest
condolences to his family; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the family of Anthony John Gagliotti.
