Senate Resolution No. 572

        HONORING Aleeza S. Sheikh upon the occasion of her
        designation  as  recipient  of  the 2025 Citizenship
        Advancement Award
 
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to  recognize  and
pay tribute to those young people within the great Empire State who have
made  strong  contributions  to  their communities and who serve as role
models for their peers; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Aleeza  S.  Sheikh  upon the occasion of her designation as recipient of
the 2025 Citizenship Advancement Award, to be  recognized  at  a  senior
scholarship  ceremony  at  W.  T.  Clarke High School on Monday, June 9,
2025; and
 
  WHEREAS, Aleeza S. Sheikh, committed to hard work and a  deep  sense
of  giving, has achieved excellence in academics, community service, and
extracurricular endeavors, justly earning this esteemed recognition; and
 
  WHEREAS, A student at W. T. Clarke High School, Aleeza S. Sheikh  is
a  valued  member  of the Tech Squad, American Red Cross, and Dog Rescue
Club; she also serves as  president  of  National  Honor  Society,  team
co-captain and singles player on the varsity tennis team, an Information
Technology  Officer of Virtual Enterprise, and, in Chamber Orchestra, is
the first stand of the Violin II Section of Theatre Pit Orchestra, is in
the Violin I Section, as  well  as  participates  in  private  study  of
violin; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Further  demonstrating  her  academic  aptitude, Aleeza S.
Sheikh is a candidate for a New York State Advanced Regents Diploma; and
 
  WHEREAS, With a variety of interests and abilities, Aleeza S. Sheikh
has experience as a student mentor with a peer mentoring initiative, and
is  the  project  coordinator   for   "Humans   of   East   Meadow,"   a
photo-documentary  project  created and operated by students of the East
Meadow School District; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Aleeza  S.  Sheikh  holds   the   following   awards   and
distinctions:  Broadway Education Alliance Roger Rees Award for Best Pit
Orchestra  in  a  Musical Theater Performance; Rho Kappa National Social
Studies Honor Society; National English Honor  Society;  National  Honor
Society;  National  French  Honor  Society;  Level 6 Violinist at NYSSMA
Music Festivals; Codexis, Inc Future Protein Engineers Research Contest;
Girl Scouts of America - Bronze Award; The National French Exam Le Grand
Concours:  Honorable Mention; and
 
  WHEREAS, Poised eagerly with enthusiasm and determined purpose, this
respected scholar and distinguished member of her community  now  stands
honorably   with   just  pride  in  her  accomplishments  and  in  eager
anticipation of all her future endeavors  and  limitless  opportunities;
and
 
  WHEREAS, It is of utmost importance to honor the youth of today--the
leaders  of  tomorrow,  whose  character  and achievements exemplify the
ideals and values  cherished  by  this  great  State  and  Nation;  now,
therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Aleeza S. Sheikh upon the occasion of her designation as recipient
of the 2025 Citizenship Advancement Award; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Aleeza S. Sheikh.
