HONORING Fred Brescia, upon the occasion of his
designation for special recognition after 50 years
of dedicated service to Chanatry's Hometown Market,
on April 18, 2025
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Fred
Brescia, upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition
after 50 years of dedicated service to Chanatry's Hometown Market in
Utica, New York, on Friday, April 18, 2025; and
WHEREAS, While employed by Chanatry's Hometown Market for the past
five decades, Fred Brescia has held many positions; from bagging
groceries and stocking the shelves in every department, he has risen
through the ranks within the supermarket; and
WHEREAS, Fred Brescia has and continues to hold the positions of
Frozen Foods Manager, Deli and Hot Foods Manager, and Head Buyer for all
perishable departments; and
WHEREAS, While he is not working, providing exceptional service to
the patrons of Chanatry's Hometown Market, Fred Brescia enjoys spending
time with his wife, Marilyn; his children, Vin and Erica; and his
grandchildren, Gianna, Giovann, and Giuliano; he is a fan of the New
York Yankees and the Las Vegas Raiders; and
WHEREAS, Fred Brescia offers 50 years of experience, serving his
customers and providing loyalty and dependable longevity while employed
by Chanatry's Hometown Market, Mohawk Valley's award-winning supermarket
and a cornerstone of the Utica community since 1912; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Fred Brescia has displayed
throughout his life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Fred Brescia, upon the occasion of his designation for special
recognition after 50 years of dedicated service to Chanatry's Hometown
Market, on April 18, 2025; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Fred Brescia.
