HONORING Mary Ellen Karrat, upon the occasion of
her designation for special recognition after 50
years of dedicated service to Chanatry's Hometown
Market, on April 18, 2025
WHEREAS, Individuals who give of their time and energies and serve
the best interests of their communities are an asset beyond remuneration
and cannot be sufficiently extolled; and
WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Mary Ellen
Karrat, upon the occasion of her designation for special recognition
after 50 years of dedicated service to Chanatry's Hometown Market in
Utica, New York, on Friday, April 18, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Karrat has worked as Cashier and Front
Office/Customer Service; she holds the position of Accounts
Payable/Receivable and handles employee payroll; and
WHEREAS, While she is not working, providing exceptional service to
the patrons of Chanatry's Hometown Market, Mary Ellen Karrat enjoys
spending time with her husband, Richard, and her son, Richard; walking
and traveling are two of her favorite activities; and
WHEREAS, Mary Ellen Karrat offers 50 years of experience, serving
her customers and providing loyalty and dependable longevity while
employed by Chanatry's Hometown Market, Mohawk Valley's award-winning
supermarket and a cornerstone of the Utica community since 1912; and
WHEREAS, Rare indeed is the impressive dedication shown by an
individual for the benefit of others which Mary Ellen Karrat has
displayed throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
honor Mary Ellen Karrat, upon the occasion of her designation for
special recognition after 50 years of dedicated service to Chanatry's
Hometown Market, on April 18, 2025; and be it further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Mary Ellen Karrat.
