Senate Resolution No. 753

        COMMEMORATING  Dominicans in Albany, a celebratory
        event of empowerment, on April 9, 2025
 
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to  recognize  and
pay  just  tribute  to the events which support the cultural heritage of
the ethnic groups which comprise and  contribute  to  the  richness  and
diversity of the State of New York and the entirety of the Nation; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commemorate Dominicans in Albany, a celebratory event of empowerment, on
Wednesday, April 9, 2025; and
 
  WHEREAS,  A goal of this purposeful event is to strengthen community
ties and  the  promotion  of  cultural  heritage,  fostering  a  greater
understanding  and  appreciation  of  the  Dominican community's role in
American society; and
 
  WHEREAS, Dominicans in Albany is an event hosted by New York State's
Assembly and Senate Dominican Delegation members; and
 
  WHEREAS, Dominican constituents are invited to Albany, New  York  on
this  day  to  participate  in  a variety of events aimed to empower the
Dominican  community,  increase  civic  engagement,  and  celebrate  the
contributions  of  members  of the Dominican diaspora to New York State;
and
 
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is pleased to have  this  opportunity
to  recognize  such events of significance which foster ethnic pride and
exemplify the cultural diversity that  represents  and  strengthens  the
fabric of the people and the State of New York; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate Dominicans in Albany, a celebratory event of empowerment, on
April 9, 2025.
