        COMMEMORATING  the  6th Annual Haitian Culture Day
        Parade, organized by Life of Hope,  and  recognizing
        its  celebration  of  Haitian  heritage,  unity, and
        community empowerment
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize  and
commend  events  that  celebrate  cultural  diversity,  foster community
engagement, and honor the rich heritage of the  residents  of  New  York
State; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
commemorate  the  6th  Annual  Haitian Culture Day Parade, to be held on
Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Brooklyn, New York; and
 
  WHEREAS, The 2025 Haitian Culture Day Parade, themed "One Love,  One
Haiti  &  One  Community,"  is  organized  by  Life of Hope, a nonprofit
organization  dedicated  to  empowering   Haitian-American   communities
through education, health, and cultural initiatives; and
 
  WHEREAS,   The  festival  will  showcase  performances  by  renowned
artists, including the  internationally  acclaimed  konpa  band  T-Vice,
Raboday performer AndyBeatz, and will be hosted by DJ Hard Hittin Harry,
highlighting the vibrant music and dance traditions of Haiti; and
 
  WHEREAS,  The  Haitian  Culture  Day  Parade and Festival serve as a
cornerstone event during Haitian Heritage  Month,  drawing  over  10,000
attendees  annually,  and  providing a platform to honor the resilience,
history, and contributions of  the  Haitian-American  community  in  New
York; and
 
  WHEREAS,   This  celebration  fosters  cultural  pride,  unity,  and
empowerment, enriching the  diverse  tapestry  of  New  York  State  and
strengthening the bonds within and among communities; now, therefore, be
it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 6th Annual Haitian Culture Day Parade, organized by Life
of Hope, and  to  recognize  its  significance  in  celebrating  Haitian
heritage and promoting community cohesion; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Life of Hope in recognition of their outstanding  efforts
in organizing this meaningful event.
