Senate Resolution No. 971

        CELEBRATING    Father    Paul   F.   Angelicchio's
        retirement upon the occasion of  his  48th  Pastoral
        Anniversary on May 7, 2025
 
  WHEREAS,  The character and richness of religious and community life
in this noble Empire  State  is  nourished  and  fulfilled  through  the
faithful  concern  and selfless devotion of those who would commit their
energies and purpose to the ministry of others; and
 
  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative  Body  to  bring  full
recognition  and  just  tribute  to  those  individuals  who distinguish
themselves and the ministry through  their  unremitting  commitment  and
preeminence of service; and
 
  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to celebrate Reverend
Paul  F. Angelicchio's retirement upon the occasion of his 48th Pastoral
Anniversary, to be celebrated on Wednesday, May 7, 2025; and
 
  WHEREAS, Paul F. Angelicchio was born in Rome, New York  to  parents
Marie (Giansanti) and Angelo "Percy" Angelicchio; he graduated from Rome
Catholic  School  in  1969  and entered the seminary in the fall of that
same year at Holy Apostle Seminary in Cromwell, Connecticut; and
 
  WHEREAS, Pursuing higher education, Paul F. Angelicchio  obtained  a
bachelor's  degree  in  philosophy and entered Major Seminary in 1973 at
St.  Bernard's in Rochester, New York, receiving a  Master  of  Divinity
degree; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Reverend  Paul  F.  Angelicchio's affiliations and life of
service  includes  his  involvement  with  various   organizations   and
institutions:  Our  Lady  of  Lourdes Church in Syracuse; Corcoran Faith
Center; Syracuse Police Chaplain; and St. Ann's Church in  Manlius,  New
York; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio also served graciously as the
pastor of Our Lady of Pompei and of St. Leo & St. Ann Catholic Church in
Holland Patent, New York, in addition to his role of pastor of St.  John
the Baptist Church and Transfiguration of Our Lord Parish; and
 
  WHEREAS,  This  distinguished  man  has  always given enlightenment,
guidance, and  wisdom  to  the  many  entrusted  to  his  care  and  has
administered  abundantly  and unstintingly to the spiritual and corporal
needs of all; and
 
  WHEREAS, In his official acts,  Reverend  Paul  F.  Angelicchio  was
governed  by  a  keen  sense of duty and always showed a unique grasp of
human problems; and
 
  WHEREAS, With him throughout have been  his  brothers,  Michael  and
David;  sister,  Mary;  and  many  nieces  and nephews, all of whom feel
privileged to be a part of his fruitful life and rejoice in his numerous
achievements; and
 
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that when a person
of such noble aims and accomplishments is brought to our  attention,  it
is  appropriate  to  publicly  and  jubilantly proclaim and commend that
individual for the edification of others; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
celebrate Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio's retirement upon the occasion of
his 48th Pastoral  Anniversary,  and  to  extend  its  best  wishes  and
sincerest gratitude for his impactful life of service; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Reverend Paul F. Angelicchio.
