Senate Resolution No. 992

        CONGRATULATING  the  Seaford  High  School Varsity
        Cheerleading Team upon the occasion of  winning  the
        Traditional   Division  II  Small  Varsity  National
        Championship  at  the  UCA  National   High   School
        Cheerleading Competition
 
  WHEREAS,  Individual  and team championships are highly sought after
in high school sports; this  Legislative  Body  commends  rare  athletic
achievements  and  pays  special  recognition  to  those who pursue such
excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State;
and
 
  WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both  the  moral  and
physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by
instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of
healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and
 
  WHEREAS,  This  Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the
Seaford High School Varsity  Cheerleading  Team  upon  the  occasion  of
winning  the Traditional Division II Small Varsity National Championship
at the UCA National High School Cheerleading  Competition  at  the  ESPN
Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida,
from February 7-10, 2025; and
 
  WHEREAS,  To  the  praise  and  applause  of their excited fans, the
Seaford Vikings defeated their competition of 96 teams from  across  the
nation  to  capture  the coveted national championship--the first of its
kind in the school's history and in Nassau County's history; and
 
  WHEREAS, Proudly donning the school's colors  of  white  and  green,
family, friends, and the community at large loyally and enthusiastically
supported  the  Vikings  throughout  their  journey  as they ended their
season with an impressive perfect season record; and
 
  WHEREAS, During their historic 2024-2025 season,  the  Seaford  High
School  Varsity  Cheerleading  Team went undefeated in the fall Game Day
season; won the Nassau County Game Day Championship; won  the  New  York
State  Game  Day  Championship; went undefeated for the winter season at
all local New York State competitions; were the Nassau County Champions;
placed second in the New York State Championship; and  successfully  won
four   UCA   regional  competitions,  two  for  Game  Day  and  two  for
Traditional, which qualified them for UCA Nationals in both the Game Day
and Traditional divisions; and
 
  WHEREAS, In a sport such as  cheerleading,  which  demands  athletic
prowess,  speed,  and  agility,  Head Coach Lisa Ferrari and her skilled
coaching staff worked hard to hone the skills of this championship team,
teaching these outstanding athletes lessons which will prove  invaluable
both on and off the mat; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Coach Lisa Ferrari and all the outstanding athletes on the
Seaford High School Varsity  Cheerleading  Team  have  clearly  utilized
dedication,   determination,   and   teamwork  in  providing  a  lasting
 
contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition  of  their
school; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Seaford High School Varsity Cheerleading
Team: Hayley Kern, Julianna Cannata, Codi Kasparian,  Marisa  Patsatsis,
Melissa  Phieffer,  Megan  Bloom,  Ava  Ammirati,  Paula  Kranis,  Grace
Doerbecker, Lilah Posporelis, Kayleigh  Elias,  Gianna  Cerulli,  Gianna
Pasquale,  Valentina  Kalischer,  Victoria  Stebner, Maria Pineda, Kayla
Martell, Gabby Kuffo,  Alexandra  Monopoli,  Jenna  Mando,  and  Brianna
Sidoti;  Coach  Lisa Ferrari; and Assistant Coach Brenda Martin on their
outstanding season and overall team record; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That copies of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted   to   the  members  of  the  Seaford  High  School  Varsity
Cheerleading Team, Head Coach Lisa Ferrari, and Assistant  Coach  Brenda
Martin.
