        HONORING  Dr.  Farnaz  Tamari upon the occasion of
        her designation for special recognition at  the  Dr.
        Martin  Luther  King,  Jr.  Visionary Awards Gala on
        March 22, 2026
 
  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to  recognize  and
commend  those  extraordinary  individuals  whose  humanitarian service,
visionary  leadership,  and  global  advocacy   reflect   the   enduring
principles  of  justice,  equality,  and  peace championed by Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr.; and
 
  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to honor
Dr.  Farnaz  Tamari  upon  the  occasion  of her designation for special
recognition at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards Gala  on
Sunday,  March  22,  2026, at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, New
York; and
 
  WHEREAS, Dr. Farnaz Tamari is a distinguished  Dental  Director  and
clinician  whose  career has been defined by her steadfast commitment to
expanding access to oral healthcare and improving the  quality  of  life
for underserved communities; and
 
  WHEREAS,  In  her  current role at the Building Service 32BJ Benefit
Funds, Dr. Farnaz Tamari leads operations for one  of  New  York  City's
largest  and most impactful dental centers, managing a multidisciplinary
team of more than 80 professionals  and  spearheading  a  transformative
expansion  that  includes  29  new operatories and a full-service dental
laboratory, thereby establishing the  facility  as  one  of  the  City's
premier destinations for comprehensive dental care; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Dr.  Farnaz  Tamari  previously served with distinction as
Dental Director at The Mount Sinai Hospital and The Institute for Family
Health, where she  held  faculty  appointments  in  the  Departments  of
Dentistry  and  Family  Medicine,  contributing  to  the  advancement of
academic scholarship and the training of future healthcare professionals
through her published studies; and
 
  WHEREAS, Her earlier service in Federally Qualified  Health  Centers
and  school-based  health  systems  further  strengthened  her  lifelong
dedication  to  health  equity  and  the  delivery   of   compassionate,
patient-centered care to communities most in need; and
 
  WHEREAS,  A  recipient of multiple academic scholarships, Dr. Farnaz
Tamari earned her Bachelor of Science degree from York  University,  her
Doctor  of  Dental  Surgery  degree  from  University  of  Toronto,  and
completed her General Practice Residency at Montefiore Medical Center in
the Bronx, preparing her for a career marked by excellence  in  clinical
practice and leadership; and
 
  WHEREAS, Beyond her clinical and administrative accomplishments, Dr.
Farnaz Tamari is the co-owner of the Home Health Aide Training Institute
with   Dr.   Maria  Santiago,  an  innovative  initiative  dedicated  to
 
addressing the national shortage of healthcare workers by  expanding  to
new   locations   and   incorporating   robotics   and  modern  training
technologies to prepare a new generation of skilled caregivers; and
 
  WHEREAS,  Service  and community leadership have always been central
to Dr.  Farnaz Tamari's life; as an active volunteer with Chabad of Lake
Success,  she   organizes   educational,   outreach,   and   fundraising
initiatives  that  strengthen  families and foster meaningful connection
throughout her community; and
 
  WHEREAS, Born in  Iran,  Dr.  Farnaz  Tamari  and  her  family  fled
persecution  and  resettled in Canada, supported by Jewish Immigrant Aid
Services and sustained by the extraordinary resilience of her mother and
her brother, Dr. Farshad Tamari, with whom she is a co-inventor; and
 
  WHEREAS, The courage and perseverance forged  through  her  family's
journey have profoundly shaped Dr. Farnaz Tamari's values, inspiring her
lifelong dedication to equity, opportunity, and service to others; and
 
  WHEREAS,   Through  her  visionary  leadership  in  healthcare,  her
unwavering advocacy  for  underserved  populations,  and  her  steadfast
commitment  to  community  empowerment,  Dr.  Farnaz Tamari embodies the
principles of justice, compassion, and service so eloquently advanced by
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.; and
 
  WHEREAS, Rare indeed  is  the  impressive  dedication  shown  by  an
individual  for  the  benefit  of  others  which  Dr.  Farnaz Tamari has
displayed throughout her life; now, therefore, be it
 
  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
honor Dr. Farnaz Tamari upon the occasion of her designation for special
recognition  at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Visionary Awards Gala on
March 22, 2026; and be it further
 
  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Dr. Farnaz Tamari.
